Lengths listed are not accurate
Great product however the lengths listed in the description are completely wrong. I ordered a medium thinking it would be 3' long (as listed) however it was much longer than that from tip of the handle to end of hooked end. Until the seller puts the actual length collapsed and actual length when fully extended (not including the loop) I would suggest not buying this product. I believe mine ended up being approximately 54" collapsed and 84" extended which was way more than I needed for a small boat. Part of the problem could be improper grammar in their description leading me to believe a Medium pole was 3 feet in length.

or takes out friends/family members who are relatively useless when it comes to helping out when docking
A definite must for anyone who often takes their boat out solo, or takes out friends/family members who are relatively useless when it comes to helping out when docking. Sometimes it's easier just to tell everyone to sit down and stay out of the way while you take care of it yourself. While I've gotten good enough this year at docking that I don't use it as much, it's always nice to have on windy days when docking can get squirrelly. A bit pricey but the build quality reflects that price. I think the medium size with the standard loop will fulfill 95% of boaters needs. I don't see the need for the larger loop unless you have some really big pilings you need to grab.

Loop fell off after 4 uses
Bought this at the end of last season. Used it once last season worked great. Used it 3 times this season and the head popped off into the bay. Sunk to the bottom not to be found. Not sure if it unscrewed from the pole or pulled off the pole. Either way I used it 4 times and now have a useless pole for $120. Seller says to go to their site for a replacement part. Guess I have to shell out another $70 for a replacement head? Wow.

Very helpful boating accessory
I had one. I loved it. So I bought another. We dock at a river marina where the current can sometimes make it a chore to dock our pontoon boat. Now we have two. When docking, someone up front uses the longer one to grab the forward cleat and pull us up and in while I (or someone else in the rear) use the shorter one to grab the rear cleat and pull us tight to the dock until we can tie up. The ONLY complaint I have is that while the whole thing floats, the looped part does not. We had an incident where someone thought she was loosening so that she could extend the pole, but she was actually undoing the looped end from the pole. And it fell in the water never to be seen again. That's user error for sure, but it would be a great feature if that could also float in case you have something like that happen.

Safe; Stress free; Simple Docking
I go out a lot on my 23 ft deckboat alone. This tool provides a safe, stress-free; simple method for catching the cleat and pulling your boat to the dock. On one particular day this year I got caught out with heavy winds that kept pushing my boat away from the dock as I tried to angle it in. The boat loop helped me catch the cleat from a pretty far distance out by extending the pole to its maximum length and pull myself in against the wind. Easily. Without this tool this scene could have gone bad pretty fast.Adding the loop to a standard boat hook was a great idea. I bought this tool this year and have only used it for one boating season so far. The rod and the rubberized hook appears to be durable with solid construction. A solid 5 stars!

Great Product, Reliable Company.
A. The boat loop is a great tool. We have been boating for years, and I had never thought about using a boat hook for anything more than snagging a mooring line or something that had fallen over board. We were going through a lock and I noticed another boat using a boat hook to snag lines on the sides to smooth their docking process and remain in place as the water was rising. It made me think I was missing a big opportunity to make our docking life easier as most of our docking is done with my wife standing at the stern. This works great, but if I fail to get the stern to swing just right it can get difficult and precarious fast. I was lucky to run across the boat loop. It is so much more than your standard boat hook. The loop and post allows you to push, pull snag, or loop anything from lines, docks, cleats, or walls. If there is a feature on a dock, you can probably snag it with The Boat Loop.On top of that RS Marine has always shipped quickly and the product is delivered as promised. That's right, I've dealt with them multiple times, not because anything broke, but because the boat loop is handy enough that I have them on different boats.

Non-removable "warning" sticker
"don't use near electrical wires" is great advice if you're not very smart. This sticker was attached to the pole with non-removable adhesive (see picture). So instead of having a functional pole, it's a sticky mess. Does anyone want a 3 language sticker on their pole telling them the obvious every time they use it? I doubt it. If you have to be told every time you shouldn't left alone with any kind of tool, and it's unlikely you can comprehend the meaning of the sticker. Might be a great product, but now it's just a sticky one. :(

Worth a Serious Consideration.
My first thought when I bought this was it was over priced and I was hoping I wasn't making a mistake. Shortly after having it on the boat a couple days I thought I was going to cut the loop off so it wouldn't look so ridiculous. However, I got side tracked and ended up not cutting the loop as I originally thought. I went the whole season fishing on the Missouri River and found I used this many times in a single day and yes I even used the silly loop to catch logs and such.So in reflection now that the season is all but over I found this an indispensable tool. It is everything I hoped it to be I wanted a quality fiberglass pole compared to the cheap aluminum rods this is far superior. It still looks a little silly in my rod holder but I love this thing I used it to push debris away from my boat and saving a run in the current not having to come around again since I have a loop to catch my spot. "Well, done Boat Loop People" my many thanks.
