I gave this three stars because of the uncertainty of whether it is truly raw. I read that all carob must be heated to the point were it will not gum up the grinder due to moisture. So we are uncertain about the true nature of Raw Power's claim about being truly raw. More product description is needed; specifically: What is the temperature that pods are dried at--and for how long--prior to grinding into powder form? Nonetheless, the taste and consistency are both excellent. The price however should be lower. If it is less processed as indicated (i.e., "raw"), then it should cost less due to less processing. It appears to me that Raw Power is trying to capitalize on their claims of being raw to justify their inflated price. As such, we stopped buying this in favor of another source that is less than half the cost with an outstanding flavor and consistency profile. The carob from the alternative supplier we selected is organic, wild crafted, and the company fully discloses their entire processing from harvest to consumer.

I think this brand is truly raw. I've noticed that you can tell by 3 things. 1) it's light color. Even lightly toasting it causes the powder to go darker. 2) It tastes like really good milk chocolate. I know they tell you that carob tastes like chocolate, but I never believed them until I tasted raw carob. The roasted is so bitter to me that roasted carob never was nor ever will be, a substitute for chocolate. and 3) It has approx. 11 grams of fiber per 2 Tbs in it.Even a light toasting of the carob lowers the fiber and other good stuff.Raw Power brand raw carob has to be hands down, the best raw carob I've ever tasted. I use it for my morning smoothie/chocolate fix.

Not tried yet, smells great though... Given the status quo with so much caffeine being used (which according to some is a gateway drug to crack), any alternative for chocolate/ coffee addicts is a dire necessity. While the concept of professional psychologists/ psychiatrists/ counselors is oxymoronic, those who have such as a foundation of their hollow house of cards of being prohibitionists/ regulators of cannabis ought to self reflect on the fact that psychology/ psychiatry/ counseling does consider caffeine to be a gateway drug to crack cocaine and methamphetamines. I never much liked welfare fraudsters anyhow...

Love this brand of carob though I admittedly haven't tried many others. Wish it came in a bigger size, as they seem to run out too quick. I use them in date smoothies/daterade, about 6-7 tbsp for each 15 oz batch. It has a nice and rich chocolaty flavor. Ends up tasting like a Yoo Hoo but healthy for you minus the unethical, pus filled, osteoporosis causing, acidifying dairy. Gave some of the daterade to someone that is the opposite of health conscious and he thought it was delicious. That's the ultimate test for taste I think right there. Great brand!

This thing is awesomely good. It taste great. It beats dark chocolate any time...specially since it is better than chocolate nutritionally you may say. It is in the same spectrum of the dark chocolate flavor, so you might not even tell much of the difference, I think. No doubt it is awesomely delicious.

I have been eating raw carob for 20 years plus, and have never had a better one than Raw Power!It is exceptional---taste, consistency. Makes an awesome addition, all on its own, to sprinkleover banana ice cream. Yummy as raw carob brownies also---raw carob powder, dates andground dried mulberries. Delicious!

This is NOT RAW!!!!! I don't know what the other people are talking about who claim that it is, but I have worked as a raw food executive chef and educator at Crudessence in Montreal (look it up to see that I'm not lying) and I can tell you that this is most assuredly NOT RAW! Raw carob powder is a very light beige color and doesn't taste anything like cocoa. Roasting/toasting carob destroys it's nutrient content and flavor.
