Recommend chlorine level while using pool RX is 1 to 1.5 ppm. Not the normal 2 to 3 ppm recommendation for a residential pool. A properly maintained pool will not be susceptible to algae blooms. I use only chlorine, acid, base, and stabilizer. If you live in an area with high phosphates, you may wish to add some Phosfree+ to eliminate excess amounts as they are food for algae. Go to troublefreepool's website (100% free and an awesome community) to learn about your water chemistry and the proper methods/tools to test it.
