Q: does this product contain methylisothiazolinone?

No, it doesn't. That is one of the things I'm allergic to so my dermatologist included Free & Clear hair products on my "safe list." I have been using it without a problem for months.

Q: Does it help with dry hair? I don't have any scalp problem but I love that the shampoo is fragrance-free. Just wondering if it's good for dry hair.

It would be good for dry hair as it doesn't have chemical irritants that could dry your hair out even more.

Q: Does the conditioner detangle well?

No. I have long hair that tangles easily. I love this shampoo but the conditioner doesn't work super well for detangling. I always use another product for detangling unfortunately. This product set is really great, just wish conditioner detangled better

Q: Does the shampoo protect color treated hair?

On the bottle: "Recommended for all hair types as well as color treated or permed hair". So I would say yes.
