A side of World War II not seen before! Unique! Remind me of my Great Uncle Tony who served US Army during WWII, He got his purple heart medal and is a survivor of the war. He did went to the famous Battle of Bulge in Wintertime. He NEVER, NEVER, NEVER told us about His buddies army like this. The photos are priceless. Now I understand why about my great uncle’s private life because of those militaries for the good reason. About how gay, bisexual, and straight men manage to survive during the war.This book is a VERY important history. I think high recommend this great book!!!

If you like looking at vintage pictures of half-dressed men, knowing they serve in the military, but not wishing to know where the picture was taken, when the picture was taken, nor the back-story, then hurrah! This is the book for you. Featuring superb, clear, every-picture-tells-a-story level photographs without distracting text.Alternatively, you can just browse the internet and encounter the same pics, albeit with captions and background information.

An exceptionally important contribution to the field of study of men in World War II. We know about the campaigns and the battles, but this book shows us life between those events. This book shows us the story behind the story through some outstanding photos. This one has a place of honor on my bookshelf.

Amazing to see these pictures … a reminder that everyone was young once … and many of these young ones never grew older .

The pictures are so natural and real. A door to a time and part of time we never really knew. Fascinating.

Great photos, I was surprised to see the written descriptions in a mixture of English, French, and German. I’d rather it had been only in English since the foreign written matter did not appear to be translations from English.

This isn’t a lascivious book. It captures some of the lighter moments in the lives of men who were fighting the most deadly war in history. Some images will break your heart. The guys are young. Just so tragically young. The book will make you appreciate how much they sacrificed.

This is a wonderful collection of World War II heroes in states of nudity. Some photos the soldiers are positioned without full exposure, in others they are bare-assed and in others they are fully nude and facing the camera. The photos are innocent rather than posed. The men are relaxed with their buddies.
