Why did you pick this product vs others?: Looking for a small, easy to use local NAS for backup and bulk storage. The Terramaster met requirements, Ease of setup: I was honestly surprised how easy this thing was to configure and get networked. My main workstation runs Linux and sometimes that makes integration a bit complicated, but it was nearly plug 'n play. The setup wizard that runs on first start is very effective.

This little device is pretty amazing !! Very quick installation and very sophisticated and complete software application. Took about 2 hours to learn it, get it installed with 2 4TB SSD's and to actually put it into use for local and remote access. Hopefully it will work for a very long time since it has no moving parts other than a couple fans.

Connected to my network and mounted in my finder window, but would not transfer files. Error message: The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8062). I worked with support over three days, for almost twelve hours. Their engineer even accessed my laptop to troubleshoot the problem. We plugged my Sandisk 2tb ssd drive, with the files I wanted to access through my local network, directly into the usb c plug on the back of the NAS. His conclusion, it cannot be mounted because their TOS 6 operating system is not compatible with the APFS format. In other words, this NAS will not work with Apple devices.
