STAEDTLER 553 01 Mars Comfort Quick-Setting Compass with Centre Wheel, Universal Adapter and Lead Box (360mm Diameter)

Brilliant I use this for my mandalas and sacred geometry . This was recommended by Zak Korvin on his YouTube channel. He was saying he'd had his for years and it's brilliant. Has a self lock mechanism so that it doesn't open as you draw.

Perfect the job at hand. Steadtler still a reliable brand.

Able to hold a drawing pen. Solid made and securely holds a set measurement.

I wanted an ordinary compass that you put a pencil in, but couldn’t find one so I bought this. It was rather fiddly and difficult to draw really small circles but hopefully it will get easier with practice.

I ordered this compass as a trusted brand - first mistake. Compass came quickly but upon opening realized the arm lock was broken so couldn't draw a concise circle ( the whole purpose of a compass!). So I put it down to bad luck and ordered a replacement. This came the next day - fantastic service. But the first time I used it the very same arm lock broke on the new one. Pathetic. The materials are cheap and to break on first use is unbelievable. I promptly ordered a refund and will not be touching staedtler with a barge pole in future!

This item is very poor quality as the adjustment wheel and arm threads are made of plastic. The adjustment wheel became loose on the shaft and the threads on the arm stripped on one side. It's a shame that the usual quality STAEDTLER brand put their name to this produce. I returned the item and purchased a 552 01 which is the all metal version.

Knocked a star because i had to pvc tape the attachment arm to stop it from budging ever so slightly, while drawing large circles, but now its perfect and I love it.

Esse é um compasso bem confiável e tem recursos que nunca me deixaram a desejar até agora usando-o na faculdade. Os únicos problemas dele são o preço (um pouco salgado) e quanto menores são os círculos, menor é a precisão dele (notei que círculos muito pequenos, com raios menores que 1 cm fica complicado de usar).
