CorelDRAW Home & Student Suite 2018 [PC Download] [Old Version]

My PC crashed and I cannot find my past Corel Install Disc from like 8 years ago. This was a good time to upgrade. BUT - Most important is I have tons of Corel files I need to open and edit. So this worked perfect. I had to find missing fonts but once I did, the file opened and I can see what I created. When you go to save it, it will save to the updated version so if you think you need the past version save as a new name. The download, install and everything was smooth and fast. I used my EDU email to register and I am back in action.

It is a good software, it downloaded instantly, but has limitations which i wasn't aware about. Some features i wanted, which were present in Coreldraw graphic suite aren't present in home suite.And they have mentioned that designs created through this cannot be used for commercial purposes. Only graphic suite has commercial license. Graphic suite is 5 times more expensive than home suite. So you need to pay 5 times the price of this software for a commercial license. Such a rip off.

I've been using CorelDraw since 1988. I love this program, and (surprise) they haven't screwed it up! This version has more latitude with photo correction and better vector controls, good bitmap-vector conversion, and some of the best textures and shading ever! It's not always intuitive, so I've used online videos to learn new things, and there so much capability, I'll never learn it all.

I bought this software for what I thought would be a simple job of copying some elements from a JPEG image and pasting them into another JPEG. However, it turns out this software is unable to do this, and Corel tech support explained to me: "Please be informed that The program CorelDRAW 2018 Home and Student has Excluded Pro Features for CorelDRAW Home & Student Suite X8: - Macro Manager disabled - Some Professional Print options disabled (CMYK features, Composite, color separations, Postscript and prepress tabs in the print dialog) The layout tab has been simplified. - Enhanced Color management, Default color management settings and large print preview disabled - Some additional functions and support removed: Color styles, Object styles, Color harmonies, QR codes, Planar Mask tool in Corel PHOTO-PAINT, Color proofing option, Undo dockers, Universal Laser & Roland color palettes, Pantone color palettes, the ability to create left & right master pages and custom placeholder text. - Some external file format support removed: DXF/DWG, DCS, CGM, JPEG 2000, etc. - Option to purchase Upgrade program not available for CorelDRAW® Home & Student Suite 2018The reason why you cannot use the feature is that the program does not support the JPEG file as it was only the Home and Student version of the program. It would only work on the CorelDRAW X8 and CorelDRAW 2019 full version."None of this was mentioned in the glowing description of this software in the blurb on its amazon page, and so I wind up with a program that can do very little except presenting its useless "Welcome Screen". I cannot even upgrade it to a version that would do what I had planned to do, so I just threw my money away. Shame on both Corel and on Amazon for not explaining those limitations before the purchase!

I've been using Corel since the early days of Windows... version 3When I bought a new PC, I decided to go Win10 just for the heck of it ( I also run Linux Mint Cinnamon on another pc, and have some Apple stuff laying about and a Win7 box.It was a mostly painless transition except my Corel V6, which won't run properly on Win 10. Not that that's terrible; anyone who regularly upgrades expects it. But Corel did put out a patch and it was available for a while, and then they pulled. Grrrrrrrrr!The app worked for the most part, but the menu didn't display except on mouseover, and no amount of tweaking, research or digging produced an answer. So I gave them my money and upgraded.The new version is just like they all are... a needless bunch of icon changes to conform to the new look, moving some of the old tools to new locations for no real reason that one could call rational and so on.Functionally, there are many improvements and if you like to be up to date, this is a pretty good product. Me? I'm no longer a heavy user and so just need to be able to knock out some vector images or do a few quick edits, make a logo or something, so about 95% of the product I'll never use. What I do use, though, is good.Also, it is working seamlessly in Win10.But a final thing in the Home version. Your ONLY option for the Custom install? the file path. In other words, my SSD is now filled with all their garbage.

Had some non-commercial vector graphics to modify and the Corel Draw portion of this allowed me to do so with a quick download and registration (activation/serial number provided on receipt). Worked well on Win7 with GTX750 graphics card. Still learning most functions, but training videos seem abundantly available.

This program does everything I need. I use it to enhance photos, crop, and other simple edits. I also use it to make simple drawings like floorplans and logic charts. I'm not a pro so it does all I need.
