It evoked a feeling of urgency
The original Japanese version was created almost 30 years ago. Parasyte seems to come from the creator’s thinking that humanity must have judged something amiss. The creator might well be telling people that if we do not start fixing things, we might end up having to face something similar to a story described in Parasyte.

Been getting into manga lately and this collection is a must buy if you like sci-fi mix with horror. I came from watching the Anime and my friend told me he remember reading it as a kid when Tokoypop had the rights back than so I was very curious about this manga and I'm glad I picked it up. I love the art style in this one compared to the anime, it feels very early '90s and you'll be feel nostalgic reading this if you were born around that era because the art style feels nostalgic for some reason but I like it. The paper quality is very high quality and it's not see through when turning to the next page, the colors make the mange very comforting to read with their type of coloring they use which is water paint mix with pencil coloring. Also for the people that reviewed this and said the books are backwards well that's not true because in Japan that's how they read books so mirroring the images will make them look weird and funny if we read them how we read books.

I recently picked up Parasyte vol.1, and I was completely hooked from the first chapter! The story follows Shinichi Izumi, a regular high school student whose life takes a terrifying turn when a mysterious parasite fails to take over his brain and instead merges with his right hand. This setup creates an intense, thought-provoking, and sometimes horrifying journey that balances action, suspense, and deep philosophical themes. The artwork by Hitoshi Iwaaki is simple yet effective, perfectly capturing the eerie and grotesque nature of the parasites. The character development is already promising, and the interactions between Shinichi and his parasite, Migi, are both unsettling and oddly humorous at times. The quality of the physical volume is excellent—the pages are crisp, the print is clear, and the binding feels sturdy. If you're a fan of psychological horror, sci-fi, or classic seinen manga, Parasyte is a must-read. I can't wait to dive into the next volume! Highly recommended for fans of Tokyo Ghoul, Berserk, or Attack on Titan!
