CollectA Manatee

It was a cold winters day when I found out that I had my friend Martin as my Secret Santa. I thought to myself “what begins with the letter M that he will appreciate?”. After around three seconds of thought I remembered that he enjoyed large beasts from the deep blue and hurriedly smashed the words “large manatee” into the Amazon search bar. I expected to find nothing, but to my delight there it was. A manatee. A LARGE SOFT TOY manatee. Or so the seller would have me believe.The next day I waited for the postman and was ready to open the front door and take the package off his hands, but to my surprise he did not ring the bell and instead just posted my package. I was puzzled as I was expecting a LARGE SOFT TOY manatee… “surely not” I said to myself. I scowled at the suspiciously small package as I made my way down the stairs to the door. I tore the box to pieces and sure enough it was a manatee. It was not large, nor was it soft, and dare I say… not a toy. I was gutted. I felt cheated, NAY betrayed by Amazon. “LIARS” I screeched.I am sure you are wondering why this review was 5 stars. I’ll tell you. This manatee may be small, it may be ugly and covered in mould, and it may be rock solid but goodness me it is phenomenal. The more I looked at the manatee the more I enjoyed it. The detail in its beady little eyes, the rough wrinkly texture of the whisker holes, and its itty-bitty va-jay-jay made me feel as though I had bought my friend an authentic replica manatee. Clearly love and effort went into creating this manatee.The manatee and I then began to spend time together and I realised just how useful SHE had become. As seen in the attached pictures she can be a motivational piece that can be placed on your desk. When the inevitable sadness rises, she gives me strength to carry on. She is also able to hold things between her fins such as AirPods, but what you want to ram between her fins is up to you. She won’t mind. She can be used as a knuckle duster to fend of would-be intruders, for she is no soft toy and her spine is solid. She also found her way on top of my mug. I did not put her there. She just appeared there after I had been out of the room for a while. I think she knew my tea was getting cold and wanted to help the only way she knew how. By dunking her fins in my tea and covering the top with her fat gut.This manatee is an excellent friend and companion and I will be sad when she has to go live with Martin, but I have no doubt she will bring him the same joy that she has brought me.The possibilities truly are endless with this manatee. A must buy.
