THIS SNARE IS MADE OF A STURDY CLEAR ACRYLIC TUBE THAT IS INVISABLE TO LOBSTERS, UNLIKE OTHERS, AND COATED STAINLESS STEEL CABLE. MY SNARE DOES NOT HAVE A LOCKING MECHANISM, SO IT WILL NOT HARM LOBSTERS. JUST SLIP NOOSE AROUND LOBSTERS TAIL, THEN GENTLY PULL THE CABLE CORD AT THE END OF THE HANDLE TO TIGHTEN NOOSE, THEN FOLD CABLE BACK ONTO SNARE HANDLE AND GRAB LOBSTER. IT HAS A SAFETY STOP TO PROTECT LOBSTERS, PER HARVESTING REGULATIONS. THE SAFETY STOP ALSO GLOWS IN THE DARK WHICH IS HELPFUL IN DARK BUG HOLES. NEW HUNTERS, THIS SNARE MAY REQUIRE SOME PRACTICE TO MASTER TECHNIQUE. BEFORE BUYING I ADVISE YOU TO WATCH VIDEO "CLEAR ADVANTAGE LOBSTER SNARE BUGGIN VIDEO". ON THE AMAZON SITE, BELOW FEATURES AND DETAILS.... PRICE IS FOR ONE ITEM...HAPPY HUNTING... FLORIDANS - YOU CAN CATCH SPANISH LOBSTER ALL YEAR LONG WITH THIS SNARE BECAUSE CABLE IS THIN AND MORE SENSITIVE THAN OTHERS.

Does what it's supposed to!
Not a new diver, just new to lobstering. I was handed a green snare while under water last year on a dive with no instruction on how to use it and I couldn't figure out how to open it. I decided this year that I wanted to try lobstering so I bought this snare and gave it a shot. The only instruction I had was watching a few youtube videos. Did a shore dive and easily caught every lobster that I tried to. I for sure felt like a pro. Now if i could only measure and bag the lobsters with the same ease of catching them. Took home 4 keepers on my first try.Great customer service!

Save your money!
Decided to get this contraption because of all the rave reviews. Used it once and it didn't well work for me. Using clear tube is a pretty clever idea but the snare has its flaws. #1 the noose was to floppy. No matter how I adjusted it it just wouldn't hold in the right position. It wouldn't be much of a problem if you were scuba, scuba or hookah diving for bugs but when you are freediving in deeper water with cracks and ledges you ain't got time to be messing with your gear. If there's a decent current this thing is useless. At Its maximum, the noose wasn't big enough to fit around the tails of some lobsters. Unless the bugs are out in the open, this wont work. Save your money! I didn't get to use it until our season opened up so I can't return it. A good pair of gloves, a tickle stick and a net is the way to go.

ONLY ONE SNARE
Why on earth would every picture have 4 snares when only one is included? I got this one because despite looking cheaper (there are many drawbacks to the design like the inability to loosen the snare without pulling it back and doing so manually with second hand) it was advertised as being a 4 pack. For what you pay you can easily make similarly effective ones yourself or even something that has the loop end attached at the tip to facilitate loosening in the field. Now I have to find 3 more for the rest of my family on our vacation.

Great product great price
GREAT PRODUCT!!!I dove with a friend who has this lobster snare. I watched him catch 14 out of 15 lobsters with it. I had a tickle stick & net. The bugs didn’t sense the snare until he tightened it up around them.I immediately bought a snare and took it diving with four friends, i caught over 20 of the 29 lobsters we found. I was amazed how simple it was to use. No more net & tickler for me.

These things are the best!
I just got two new Clear Advantage lobster snares delivered yesterday. This is, by far, the most effective tool for catching lobster I have ever used. I had my previous Clear Advantage for about five years. Over that time, I used the Clear Advantage exclusively, and seldom lost a bug once I found it.This past July, during the second day of mini-season, i dropped my Clear Advantage while fooling around with my spear gun. By the time I realized it was gone, I had moved from the spot, and couldn't find it (one down side to these things- they're hard to find when you drop them).I was crushed. I tried to make a replacement using fishing leader and an aluminum tickle stick, but it just didn't have the "snap" that the Clear Advantage had, and the lobsters escaped from my crude substitute. I resignedly purchased one of those green snares, and continued on with the season with less effective results. When i heard these were for sale on Amazon, I was so excited, I purchased two: one to use for the last month of the season, and one for back-up, in case i loose the first one. I don't ever want to be without a Clear Advantage again!
