Great Picture Book
This book has lots of pictures, and some interesting text by Sheik Yamani. But it is not an academic archeological report that I was hoping for. Great for the coffee table and for discussion, but not terribly useful for finding resources as it has no bibliography. Having said that, there are endnotes at the end of each of the five chapters. The majority of references come from early Islam (eg. Azraqi, Tabari, etc) with a sprinkling of references that are a century old and a very few references from the last 40 years. This book will not answer the question: Is this really the house of Khadija? It is more written to the believers, and assumes you are already on-board. It does not answer questions about the house, like why it has three mihrabs... which date the house to after 69 AH when the Mihrab was first invented in Medina. Khadija died before the Islamic calendar began, and before the Mihrab idea was conceived.
