Black Liqueur With Whiskey, 70 Cl, ABV 40%

I bought this at a great price. I love it, its so much nicer, richer tastier than normal southern comfort.... But at full price I'd hesitate.

I have bought Southern Comfort Original a few times but found that enjoyment of the flavour was reduced by being overly sweet. This Southern Comfort Black still has all the best qualities of a good liqueur with rich smooth and complex flavour without the sickly sweetness. I was hooked before the end of my first glass and ordered another bottle as soon as it was on offer again.

Liked it a lot. Bit smokier and a little more bitter than SC. Nice for a change, but won't swap permanently.

This amazing brew is wonderous stuff and a step up from 'normal' Southern Comfort because you get the smoothness of the Southern Comfort and the 'kick' of the whiskey as a nice bonus. One of my favourites.

I’m my opinion. It tastes different to the normal Sounthern Comfort. It has a more whiskey taste to it. I wasn’t keen on the first bottle. But I got a second as a gift. And it’s quite nice. If you haven’t tried it. Give it a go. But do not expect it to taste as lovely as the normal Southern Comfort.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this Southern Comfort Black. I haven't had SoCo for a while. I enjoy the normal one but, despite having a sweet tooth, it can get a bit too much in excess. This Black Southern Comfort is a but like a blend of SoCo original and bourbon. The taste is surprisingly good, with the bourbon whisky and it's smokey oak notes coming through over the SoCo flavour. If you like SoCo and bourbon, you'll love Soco Black. I've only tried this neat. I never mix Southern Comfort with mixers. It's pleasant to drink and I can highly recommend it. I'm glad I bought 2 bottles whilst it was on offer.

Hmm... I like the regular Southern Comfort for its easy, smooth and sweet palette and I love the spice of the 100 proof, but this is somewhere between the heat of the 100 (50% volume) and the cough syrupy original, seemingly without the positives of each. It's harsher than the regular, but lacks the spicey notes of the 100 proof. I personally wouldn't bother again, but I suppose if you fancy a bit more alcoholic kick from your bottle of SC, then it's worth a go. Just be aware it lacks the complexity of a good whisky and isn't as easy as regular Southern Comfort. The 100% proof remains my favourite, with the regular 35% being the more budget friendly Friday night unwind with a bottle and some music option.

Me gusta más que el original, se le nota un poco más el bourbon y menos el toque dulce del normal, de ahí que cueste un poco más. Yo le daría una oportunidad para el que todavía aún no lo ha probado.
