Wrangler Men's Ranger Cargo Short

Very nice. These are well made with good sized pockets. They are long, just past my knees. Material is nice and heavy. Heavy duty enough zipper. They fit exactly as expected.

Great shorts at a great price, what else can I say. I've been using Wrangler's Riggs workwear and Ranger Cargo Shorts for years and they've never let me down.

——Almost 2 year update—- Shorts have held up really well and there’s no major rips/tears…even when tossing in nails and screws in the pockets. The ripstop material feels robust like jeans, but yet drys decently quick when wet. The shorts have shrunk a tad in the waist from using a hot wash cycle and dryer, so i’ve moved to air drying after washings and it seams to have helped un-strech the shorts. I’ve found the hammer loop to be a bit to small—it will take a small wood working hammer just fine but won’t accept anything the size of a framing hammer. Also, the cargo pockets are made too tight and I find it hard to get my hand in there to pull out anything that’s sitting on the bottom. Overall am still pleased with the shorts and i think i’ll end up getting another pair here in the near future. ——Original Review—- Needed some work shorts and ended up with theses. Overall I’d say I’m satisfied. The material appears to be rip stop type fabric, but it’s much thicker than normal and appears to be more similar to the thickness of jeans than ripstop. The length of the shorts is a bit longer and I wanted for it comes down below my knees a couple inches. The pockets are nearly just right, the only suggestive change would be to have the left cargo pocket angled instead of being square to make it easier to open and close. I think the color matches what was shown on the webpage, but to be honest, this was for work wear so I don’t really care what they look like. The only negative aspect is there was a ton of threads hanging out all over the ends of seams where it looks like the sowing machine had to stop and reposition.

My husband really likes these cargo shorts. They are comfortable, rugged, well made and have plenty of pockets. No ironing needed and are true to size.

I am blessed to be able to wear shorts when working. However, it is hard to find shorts which can hold a tape measure and utility knife. These shorts are perfect for that. These are great work shorts. Comfortable fit and are ruggedly built. These shorts hold up to me crawling around in them. These look stylish but are made for us worker bees. I will be ordering more. They are true to size.

They run VERY large, I tend to be on the lean side but had to return/refund as I was unable determine what size I can wear. Otherwise they’re very cool shorts & would look forward to wearing.

Update:2025: _Dissappointing_ I've neen ordering Riggs cargos as my daily-driver summer short since 2015. Show 4 reorders on some colors. Sure they eventually wear out, and get replaced, but they've been _tough_ so far. And they've been _consistent_ quality and construction. I know my existing reflect different years and sources, but they're _indistingushable_ buy-over-buy. But this year's July orders suddenly are completely different pants: different construction - thin, lighter weight, lighter stiching. *NOT* the pants I've been buying for a decade. I've been on a diet, so I threw old and new pairs on a scale, to measure the fabric weight change (pix attached): - typical old pair (after years of wear & washing): 595grams - new: 476g, 554g, 553g Thats 20% to 7% lighter. Snd the fabric is unquestionably thinner: These will last a fraction as long as my orior buys. I bought a few more pairs (They still have the pocket depths I prefer, for now) and I need smaller sizes now. But I've been off looking into Carhartt's offerings for future buys: I'll _pay_ for quality, but I'm not paying more for an inferior product. And these aren't tuff work wear any more. Prior: I like the clearly superior quality and finish on the Rigg's shorts. I picked up a pair of Wrangler 'premium' cargo's at the same time, and there was no comparison at all. Of course these also run you a fair piece more, but you do get what you pay for. Nice deep front pockets, holds a superfly or nemesis with room to spare.

So far, I like the fit, and the pocket placement. I also LOVE that there's no VELCRO! Lawd I can't stand that stuff! The stitching is very good. There's been no sore spots from the seams. It's been over 100 degrees and these shorts have kept me pretty cool. They dry quickly and don't help hold sweat in. The materials seem to be holding up too. I do carpentry to landscaping for the county. So these shorts get put through their paces. I would suggest, possibly ordering a size larger. I usually wear a 34 waist, but these are just a little tight. Other than that, I have no complaints. I would definitely buy these again.
