Excellent product

I bought this item twice from the same seller in May 2022 and June 2022. I had hours of trouble with the package I bought in May. The remote wireless sensor would not sync or stay synced with the receiver. I moved both components multiple times, thinking the distance between must be the problem. Only later did I realize the significance of the "Feb 17" stamped on the bottom of the sensor. I had been sold a device manufactured in February 2017. It spent over 5 years setting in a warehouse. These units have a packaged, non-replaceable, non-rechargeable, non-switchable battery, so obviously the battery was almost dead. I bought a second unit, dated Feb 2022, and it worked perfectly. Check the date before installing!

This unit is working as described, but potential users should know that it takes some time to figure out the various adjustments to get this system to work properly for your lawn. Also, the instructions for installing and connecting to your irrigation controller could be better. I didn't really know whether the wireless communication was working properly because there is no description of what the indicator light on the receiver does when you have connected everything - it just flashes once only when you push the Quick Response button on the transmitter/sensor. The instructions for wiring the X-Core controller did not state that you have to remove a small metal shorting plate that sits between the connection screws. So, the unit works well once installed but the installation instructions could use some work.

I bought this as a replacement for the unit originally installed with our sprinkler system. For some reason, it has a sealed lithium metal battery rather than a replaceable battery. After 10 years or so, it is necessary to replace the entire unit at a significant cost. This is wasteful and expensive, which is why I've given this only 3 stars. In addition, it doesn't appear to be possible to purchase only the transmitter unit, even though the receiver doesn't need replacement.

Product has yet to work. Waited for too long for it to start working and return window is passed.

Will change my review once I notice a difference. So far I haven't notice any difference from my old wired sensor. So not sure if its worth the upgrade.
