These are perfect for storing dry goods for a long time. The large size pump is a real bonus, and pulls out the air much more quickly than the standard vacu-vin pumps. Works perfectly for wine bottles with vacu-vin caps.

Great as a meat tenderizer but great as a flavor infuser. put meat in and the flavorings a bit of liquid and vacuum the flavor in. Love this product. takes a bit to get the pressure right, but flawless through many, many uses. Had another similar and it developed cracks in the canister - not with this one, it stands up to a lot of use. The top is a bit sensitive to high heat in the dishwasher, so I wash by hand. recommended highly

I have used Vacu vin's for many years now. I needed to renew my oider round quart ones as they are no longer made. The new ones are slightly larger and more square in shape, They are marketed as a method to marinade chicken quicker and other veggies and meats as well. I find the best use is to use them to remove the air from the coffee after opening the coffee bag. I then freeze the beans. Some coffee people dont like the taste as the oils change slightly, but for me the reduced O2 preserves the bean better which out weights the change in oil taste.

First use was simple-I dropped some chicken breast in here (chunked up) with some red wine vinaigrette and in 20 mins it was perfect.I don't know if it was the vacuum or the cut or the high acid content of the dressing, (probably all of the above) but the chicken came out juicy and tender and delicious.

I bought several Vacu Vin items at the same time, and because of that, I'm giving this 3 stars. This one didn't hold a seal as well as the other ones I got (Vacu Vin Coffee, Tea and Food Vacuum Storage Small & Medium). The other two really held a seal well, so I think this one was a bit of a lemon. After you pump the air out, if you want to open this, you have to push the little doot at the top to let air in so you can take the lid off. On the other ones, you can hear air coming in. You can't on this one. Also, you can easily pull the lid off without messing with the doot.The pump worked super well though. And it works on the other storage containers AND the wine stoppers, even though it's a little bigger than the original pump.

This a perfect size for 1 or 2 people. Allows marinade to cover meat better for small meals.

Using this product for the first time, after hand washing. Seal will not let loose, button does nothing. Tried hot water, nothing helps. Can easily break it to let suction loose but really seller

Bought it out of curiosity and darned if it didn't work straight outta the box (after cleaning). Marinated chicken parts in lemon juice and olive oil, twenty minutes later I had delicious marinated chicken grilling...two days later I was making fast cucumber pickles, and my nine-year old girl loved them, since they were ready for dinner (loaded them up at lunch).Heck, marinate foods with your favorite sauce and get going, or get some pickle recipes. Great for barbecue season, since organization of marinating stuff overnight isn't really in my makeup. No regrets on this gadget for my small kitchen.

Great quality. I have tried two other vacuum containers, this one was more effective and easy to use despite the manual pumping. the item is as described. Overall I am very satisfied.

Just as others have said I'm impressed with this, I like this shape for our family of 3 as I had read the larger one is quite large and takes a lot of marinade to cover your meat. I wasn't sure how I would know if I was vacuuming the air out properly but the handle tightens up as the air is removed - pretty straight forward.

Works well when I get the pump properly attached, at times it can be finicky, but works once I have the vacuum properly functioning.

I use this vacuum sealed container for storing my espresso coffee beans in and it does an excellent job of keeping that freshly roasted flavour and aroma from the first to the last cup.
