I've been using cheap corkscrews like a pleb my entire adult life. When my wife our last one of those little pieces of garbage, I thought to myself (as perhaps people everywhere in their mid-thirties do), "I wonder what it would be like if my corkscrew wasn't just the cheapest one I could get from wherever I happen to be next time I remember that I need one?" And reader, the astute among you can guess what happened next: that thought led me to open the old Amazon dot com and purchase this little gem. In the grand scheme of things, it does the job it's designed to do, and if I were in a different mood, maybe I'd be satisfied with saying that. But I'm feeling effusive, so I'll say that in the admittedly tiny matter of uncorking a bottle of wine to share with some friends, this corkscrew acquitted itself spectacularly: no struggle to line up with the rim of the bottle, no broken cork, nothing untoward whatsoever. It just facilitated my access to the fruit of the vine with fitting speed and convenience. Five stars. Highly recommended.

This is a great wine bottle opener. Simple mechanism, works smoothly and efficiently. Good value and aesthetically pleasing. Seems quite durable.

Works well I only wish the cork was in easy to remove

This opener is very easy to operate, and is very sturdy. The way it adjusts to the neck of the bottle, vs the normal circular one size fits all makes it next to impossible to screw up! And it's very easy to remove the cork from the opener after you successfully remove it from the wine bottle...I used to have to use a pliers to get the cork off the corkscrew...this opener grabs the cork while you turn it in the opposite direction, and voila, the cork is free! Best opener I've seen.

Buy something else. This thing is extremely poorly designed, destroying the cork every single time without fail, and making it unnecessarily difficult to remove the cork from the screw. This is a prime example of an over-designed product that ends up being worse than something 1/10th the cost.

I had one of these a few years back and needed a second. I find it to be one of the better openers available. It fits the neck of the bottle, the screw does an effective job of catching and removing the cork and most useful is the ease of taking the cork off the screw. To do that all one has to do is leave it in place between the restraints and unscrew it. It is quite sturdy and well worth the price.
