Beautiful book but lot of repetitions
This book is beautiful and pretty - a good inspiration, I like it.And...To be honest, I don’t know if it is fair to compare this book with “The Magpie and the Wardrobe” from the same author. Which is magnificient, fabulouse, sublime, brilliant in every way, YES a treasure. But we do naturally - the one relate to the other. After such an achievement it is not only a challenge - it must be nearly impossible to create something resembling. Take the book as itself and don’t compare - you will be happy.Beside the pages with photographes, you will find two other categories:One thing which I don‘t like so much is the part with the cut out items, for my taste the wrong style. But I like the part with pictures from flowers, furniture and wallpapers very much.

Gorgeous Book
Sam never disappoints in her creative imagination and how she presents it in her art and books. My 12 year old who creates miniatures, cannot put it down. I actually bought it for myself, but keep finding it in her room. One that adults and children will enjoy equally.

A Pinch of Miniature Magic!
My husband gave me the money to buy this book after a 'big people' housing disappointment. It has cheered me up immensely! I was transported back over half a century to my post war childhood when my adored dolls' house was the centre of my private creative life. With a small core of furniture, like Miss Violet, my little people relied on me to make them comfortable by creating furnishings with found objects and scraps. This may not be the book for those who are anxious about scale in their miniature dwellings but, for those like me, it is magical. No matter that we can't find a way to fix our falling down cottage! I'm transported back to my more inventive and creative years when a cotton reel or matchbox had endless possibilities and problems of the 'real' world could be left for a while and perhaps, with a pinch more magic, sort themselves out. This is probably my favourite purchase of the year.

Gorgeous...must have book
This book is one of the most beautiful, whimsical and creative books ever to be published. Miss Violets house transports you into a fantastical world of miniatures, the ideas are so simple but effective..it has definitely inspired me to create my own "Miss Violets House"...you will not be disappointed with this book as it also contains the most stunning vintage style wallpapers, floral decals and even a Miss Violet cut out doll, with numerous outfits. Sam is a genius ☺

A Real Treasure Trove Of A Book About Dollshouses
I am currently restoring/adding to a vintage dolls house and this book is an absolute treasure. It has beautiful photographs as well as charming hand drawn elements and paper bits and pieces to use including Miss. Violet and her fab wardrobe! I love that Sam has used different scale with the contents and there is a real mix of handmade, kitsch and well worn pre loved items too. Very inspiring and a book to treasure.

A Bit Disappointing.
A wee bit disappointing. Did not have as much imagination as I was hoping. Some of the items made are a bit basic.

Magical, but also practical
It is a magical book, with a lovely story about Miss Vi but practical suggestions about how to make your own doll’s house, however humble. The cutout of Miss Vi and some of her clothes are lovely. I just hope my granddaughters love it as much as I Do!
