Great book!
This is a really great book, it has so much information, and yet it is written in an way that is easy to understand. It covers pretty much everthing you'll ever want to know about calculus :o)

Very good helpful book
I used this book in college. I found it a very helpful, useful book. It comes complete with pictures to help you understand what you're doing. Ultimately it's a most helpful book if you're looking for mathematical machinery to develop yourself to do mechanics etc. - it was in maths methods that I found it most useful. This, the tenth edition comes complete with a CD rom to make learning even easier and more fun. I give it the 5 stars because I can't think of a flaw with the book. It does what it does (mathematical methods) very well. It's well worth the buy.

Still a great book
Bought an old edition for my niece who is taking her first calc course in prison (distance learning). She say the book the provided uses about 10 pages, where Thomas goes 50. Since it is distance learning, Thomas is the cure to a poor text book. It is straightforward and clear, with examples and sample questions. Still a great book. I used Thomas for Calc II in 1967.

Thomas Calculus might be useful for you...
This textbook has great value but it hits rock bottom on some aspects. Explanations and examples are generally very good and the author organizes the information in a cohesive way.Where Thomas Calculus doesn't do well are the homework problems, I used the book for Calculus III and the homework problems are WAY too easy, they don't offer any difficult problems relevant to that section. To clarify, I 'm not talking about wordy problems or computer type problems that don't relate to the section. I'm talking about an assortment of easy, medium, difficult problems that you find in most math texts. Since the problems are all easy, they don't prepare you adequately for an exam.I think the examples and discussion in this book are slightly better than Stewart Calculus, but for problems, Stewart wins hands down. Probably best to use this book in tandem with another problem source
