BAFANG 750W Mid Drive Kit,Mid Drive Ebike Conversion Kit Brushless Upgraded Motor with LCD Digital Display Chainring for Commuter Bike,Recumbent Trike,Mountain Bike,Cargo Bike

I installed this kit on a Terratrike Rover recumbent trike. It was a straightforward install and everything fit and worked exactly as it should right out of the box. A manual for the display would've been helpful but a link to the PDF was promptly supplied by the seller upon request. One nice perk about the Bafang kit is that all necessary tools for the install were supplied with the kit. The BBS02B motor has plenty of torque for even steep hills and is a good match for the Rover. My trike has the Sturmey Archer 8 speed internal hub and the 46T chainring was a good match for this trike. Gears 1 and 2 do a good job hauling you up the hills and gear 8 lets you cruise along at 15-17 mph at a reasonably leasurely cadence on the flats. If you install this kit on a tadpole recumbent trike I highly recommend the $25 Bafang-compatible torque arm from Luna Cycle to save a lot of work fabricating one. The Bafang BBS02B is a great bit of kit and Greenergia is a great seller.

Non-Standard Cable Connectors! Seems like a nice motor but cable connections are not all the "standard" Bafang Connectors. I am replacing existing motor on Azub Trike and need extra/longer cables than regular upright bicycles! i have plenty of standard Bafang cables, BUT Varstrom chose to use DIFFEENT connectors on some parts and consequently I cannot complete installation until I get longer extension for speedometer cabling! (fortunately others had long enough cables but still l meant had to remove perfectly good equipment and use theirs. Would have been better if the DISCLOSED the variance in sales info so I could have skipped purchase or found cables before buying! Hopefully they can provide needed cable extensions?

The build went smoothly. EBike Essentials sent the right parts and followed up on the brake sensor needed for hydraulic brakes. Aligning the magnets on the break sensor was a little tricky but the rest of the conversion went without a hitch.

Easy install on my Sunseeker X3 AX recumbent trike. Only glitch was speed sensor cable is too short. You will have to add two 24" extensions. The one item that did cause some research was the speed sensor. It has directionality. Meaning you should check if you get correct output with the wheel turning forward or backward and the sensor wire forward or rear facing. It mattered on my install to the trikes fender strut. love the torque on this had a 1500w hub motor and this bafang 750w blows the hub motor away so much less weight more torque and less problems to change a flat tire
