Use a vitamin spray
If your tortoise doesn't like it spray it with the same Vitamin spray you use on the leafy greens. It'll give the pellets a similar flavor and it will be more palatable for them. My sulcata didn't like it at first but after I sprayed it he ate it up. Hope this helps

Our Tortoise Wouldn't Eat It at First
Our tortoise has been eating red leaf lettuce for years but we want him to try other foods like dandelions and other leafy vegetables or tomatoes. This one would only eat red leaf lettuce. Upon reading articles on healthy foods for tortoises, we came across this one. We mixed this with the red leaf lettuce and he would just pick the lettuce and leave this on his plate. Slowly we cut the lettuce into pieces and we moistened this well and e gave him water. He would only eat less. After a week, he started eating this. We read that they can be stubborn but he gave in. We are happy to because he has "logs" now. We wanted to try this and it seemed to work. So we will purchase this again and we hope they have bigger ones.

Great product and have used for several years
Originally found this product several years ago when our desert tortoise (an adult rescue that we’ve had for over 20 years) had to put up with condo living for a couple of transition years after we moved. He needed a supplement to store-bought greens and veggies he was reduced to eating I picked it bc it has Timothy hay and dried assorted flowers and plants suitable for his species, instead of corn and other fillers that other brands have. Now that he has a big yard again, he still likes it in a mush with water, a couple of tablespoons or so in the afternoon.

Let it soak
My son's tortoise eats this food & seems to enjoy the taste, but you really have to let the pellets soak in water until they're saturated. We made the mistake of giving the food without letting it soak enough, & the tortoise almost choked on a pellet. So, if you're in a hurry to feed your tortoise, buy smaller pellets or just give fresh veggies.

Easy to feed
I have a young tortoise and these pellets soften very quickly to mix with fresh greens. He'll eat it coating his regular greens for some added fiber. He's so small the container will last a while for the price. I do like how you can see individual fibers when it breaks apart

Buyer beware these are large pellets
My Herman’s tortoise is roughly the size of a softball, and is unable to eat these pellets due to the large size. Unless you have a large tortoise, I would not recommend these pellets. Also, even when I painstakingly break these apart, my tortoise will not consume them.

Little man eats it up!!!
Got my order with no issues. Our hatchling loves it! Probably the most I've seen him eat up ever! Great product. Will order again.
