yes. The noodle dough should be on the dry side. you can find many recipes and videos about how to make pasta/ spaghetti dough

Good for making tortellini and ravioli?

There's no specific cutting attachment for those, but it rolls out the pasta into sheets so you can do it yourself

What is the difference between "silver a" and "silver b"?

I wondered the same thing and the only thing I see is "a" is FDA approved.
