Plant in the same whole as plant about hand width or so away from root ball. I purchased specifically for my hydrangeas.

is this a burning formula?

No. This product will not burn your plants root system. I used to own a landscape business. We place these tablets in the hole right next to the root system. They don’t burn. They actually promote growth and will feed your plants for 2 years. Great product!

Can i use for fruit trees and vegetable

WRONG! They are fine with edibles such as fruit trees and vegetables. Where did you get this information about these tabs not being for edibles. If you don't know, don't post an answer. Thank you.

Are there instructions for use on existing plants and flowers or is it the same for all?

These are more for establishing newly planted items. I would look for a plant fertilizer that you can broadcast over the root zone for existing plants.
