I did a very detailed search and research at Amazon and other stores for good quality scale. At the beginning I wanted it with wireless/Bluetooth connection, but after all these reviews that apps can glitch and cause all data lost or problems with connection, I decided to do without wireless. I have Android phone and there are some Tanita models for iPhone with wireless connection, but o well, not for me. This scale will give you very consistent reading and it have a lot of detailed information. It is one of not many scales on market that give you visceral fat rating. This is a great Japanese quality scale. And there is one app in Play Store (Google Play) from independent developer to track all these Tanita 9 parameters - 'Weight Logger', where as an option you can dump all the data in csv format and analyze it in excel with beautiful graphs. Overall, I am very happy with this scale!

One of the most important markers we can check regarding our health without having to go to the doctors and beg for labwork is our water % in the body. I'm a Functional Medicine Nutritionist and I use this scale in my practice. Most people are dehydrated and don't know it. Just because one drinks "a lot" of water doesn't mean their cells are hydrated. In the abscense of sufficient minerals one's cells cannot uptake water. Wild shifts in readings on this machine for two months. Now all I see is an ERROR message. I did not even use it 20 times before it broke. Total junk. Do not buy.

Love, love, love this scale. I can now see the effect of my exercise and eating plan not just on weight, but on bone and muscle mass. Also lets me view hydration. All these are important to me as I start my senior years.

This has been an essential part of my weight loss plan. Invaluable. So glad I bought it instead of renting it from the weight loss plan I am using. So glad that the Tanita was recommended to me. I track the numbers each week and I can make sure I am burning the right amount of fat and watch the muscle stores. Tanita also tells you how many calories you need a day to maintain your desired weight, in addition to several other important things. Well worth the cost of purchase!
