Ok as far as music goes you would have listened to it already I am sure. The quality of the vinyl itself I am no sound specialist or engineer but that is the typically rich vinyl sound I am after and that's all I know. What I like is that there is not a song that you feel has been botched for the sake of making the number. No doubt the musicians and Charlotte Gainsbourg has put a lot of themselves into making this album. Now for the product itself, it is just magnificent. Super thick album cover and content, I love it and it arrived pretty fast in spite of Covid and well protected, so well done to the seller.

A wonderful album. 'Rest' is a blissful serenade, with a synthesized, bluesy tone; hypnotic. I highly recommend.

Incredible! Deadly Valentine is amazing!

There are 11 tracks here total time 48:34. If you don't know Charlotte Gainsbourg, she is an actress and singer, but this is her first album in 7 years. If you like Dream Pop, you will probably like this. Most of the songs require close listening to get the lyrics, but just listening is easy to do and requires no effort.Parlez vou Francais? Yes that would help, but since I don't speak or understand French I can't tell you what the songs she sings in French are about. They are nice to hear however.The 11th song Les Oxalis uses one of the old and very annoying tricks, you think the song has ended and you have what seems like a forever never ending silent close out. Then another song comes on. Why the long delay? It is an unpleasant nuisance which almost made me lower this to a 4 star rating. Why not a 10 second delay - why minutes of silence. Maybe the title explains it, but I don't get it. At least the song is the last one, and some people will probably shut down the cd before they ever get to it.But put this annoyance side. There is a lot of good music hear, and if you haven't heard it, you are missing out.

great album.

Despite dealing with many dark and personal themes, “Rest” is a stunning piece of work and one of the best produced and arranged albums I have heard in a very long time. An absolute pleasure on the ears! It is a largely dark album, yet oddly sensual with Gainsbourg’s mix of French and English language, culture and influence bringing a very unique identity. For me, it’s her best work to date.

Funnily enough not really my type of thing but I’m sure this is last year’s best album . I literally cannot stop playing it . Amazing musical backings and a potent mix of French and English vocals . Best tracks ... Ring a Roses , Kate, Sylvia Says , Les Crocodiles , Les Oxalis . But nothing wrong with any of the others either !

I love this album. Love her voice. The mix of spoken/sung - French/English. It all works very well. The production is great too. Some of the tracks have immediate appeal but others need more listening to. Having the complete lyrics which come with the discs is helpful. 11 tracks over 2 discs. Worth buying the full size sleeve. Recommended listening.

Many good songs… some would suit perfect in kind of detective series during 70s as "The Persuaders" or some... or A James Bond Movie from 60s, begin of 70s as intro music. Thats not a bad thing to me. Its a nice album you cant go wrong with if like good pop songs.

Had not listened to her before catching an interview on the radio and consequently bought this album. What a treat. Intimate, ethereal.Favourite tracks: Deadly Valentine, Sylvia Says and Ring-a-ring O' Roses.
