While Ibanez guitars are a great value, their components tend to represent the kind of lowest quality and reliability typical of cost-conscious manufacturers. The 3-way switch became intermittent so I replaced it with the Dopro Guitar 3 Way Short-Frame Toggle Switch. To my delight, the build quality is excellent and ruggedized. The switch action is very smooth with a distinctive but low force "click" tactile. The terminals are easy to solder without the risk of overheating and melting a cheap plastic housing as was the former stock switch. The gold toggle actuator is very smoothy polished gold plated brass. My customer was truly impressed by the feel and quality and the quiet switching action between pickups. The former stock switch developed an audible pop when selecting between pickups, which this switch has beautifully and fully remedied.

i bought this switch because it was cheap and looked like it was good enough, but i am very pleasantly surprised. it seems well made, and it is smooth and silent. has a nice, positive-but-soft switching action like an aged, broken in switch. i took a fine scotch brite pad to the tip to dull the shine before i installed in an old guitar and it looks as good as it performs.time will tell how well it holds up, but my first impressions are all good and i wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I refinished my Epiphone Les Paul and wanted to go with gold hardware. This guy works really well and looks fantastic! The feel of the switch is nice too. Very happy. Great value for sure.

Good finish

The product description says “the threaded shaft is 12mm”, but it doesn’t specify if that’s the diameter or the vertical height. Well, it’s the diameter - not the height. The threaded height is only 9mm, which will not fit an imported Hamer. Just be aware so you don’t make the mistake I did and end up with a useless part.

I needed a 3 way switch for a mod project, and I’ve also been swapping out the silver metal on my LP for gold. Haven’t wired the new switch yet, but the cap and washer fit perfectly so I’m already satisfied. If you’re looking to just replace your Epiphone LP switch, this should work well.
