TP-Link TL-WR720N 150Mbps Wireless N Router

One of the best wifi router i have ever used.....very easy to install

I ordered the TP-Link broadband for my home cable internet connection [You Broadband]. It was delivered in one and half day in spite of delivery date being mentioned one week later. I was very happy with the delivery. Package was well packed. I installed the product took less than 5 minutes to configure the router its very easy comes with an installation CD. I could start using the router immediately. Router is small and compact. It is working well and comes with a 3 year warranty. I got good value for money and the product was cheaper on Amazon as compared to the price its sold on other websites.

My 1st wireless router ..Loving it so far ..Amazing performance!Writing this review after using it now for well over 2 monthsAs i am having a PPPOE connection, i don't even need a modem for connection. Just plug in Ethernet cable, go through quick & EASY router settings and you are good to go. As simple as that!I preferred to go for this over WR740N because of the compact design.This has an in-built antenna but enough to cover desired range.It comes with just 2 LAN ports as compared to WR740N's 4 but i need just 1 port to connect to my PC.(Note: this is just a simple router and NOT modem + router)Signal strength (maybe 4/5)It reaches 2 rooms away with walls in between, covers my entire house, so i'm satisfied with it!Performance (5/5)Till now, this has NEVER ever hung up for me. Didn't give a single problem yetIt doesn't even get heated up. You can keep it ON whole day or even morePrice (5/5)I got this for Rs. 699 only. Happy to get such an amazing product at low price!Design (5/5)Super sleek design. TP-Link TL-WR720N 150Mbps Wireless N Router I had been using this product for the past 5 months. So I feel its the right time to review it.Pros:1.Affordable.2.Light weight.3.Gives descent connectivity.Cons;1.Heats up.2.Gets disconnected at times,which gets corrected once you switch on and off the router.(I think yhis problem is not even a problem because this happens with almost all the routers).

1. Small (about 6x4inches)2. Lightweight (That's a plus for me 'coz I have mounted it on the wall)3. Internal Antenna (Nothing sticks out of the router and I love that 'coz I have had a miserable time setting a D-Link 605L up at home, 'coz the antennas kept coming in the way.. Although, it is a matter of personal taste)4. Came with a Adopter and a LAN cable.5. Although made of plastic looks and feels quite durable. (Then again which router at this price will be made of metal)6. Extremely easy to setup. Took me a around 5 mins to set the router up. As I have already mentioned, I have a D-Link 605L at home and when compared to that, it was a walk in the park 'coz I had to spend nearly 5 hours with the 605 and that with out including the three calls that I had tcablo make to the D-Link Customer Care.7. The range is quite good. That being said, do not expect the router to have a range enough to cover a full three storied house. I use it at my 2BHK flat and I don't face a significant signal drop anywhere in the flat after placing the router in the sitting room.8. I use it with a modemand happy with it till now. .

Wifi range isn't that large. But other than that I don't have any issues. I am writing this review after using this device for 3 years. Bit if your house have 2 floors, u should take bigger range because it falls short.

1) Amazon Delivery: BEST BEST BEST!!!!!!!! Ordered on 5th Jan Night and got it delivered on 8th Jan afternoon. This differentiates the PROs from the amateurs!!!5/52) Packaging: Package is not at its best but its fairly packed!!!!! 3.5/53) Product size: its little larger than our palm and has no antenna (thats why I chose this for)... Its like the head of the killer robots from the movie "WAR OF THE WORLDS".4) Warranty: As promised it's got 3 years warranty. So no worries!!!5) Configuring: It's a pain in the ass if you try to set up the connection on your own. Tried for 45 mins but in Vain. Then I tried using the small CD provided, to my surprise following the simple procedures in the CD I changed the password and clicked on Finish.. TADAAAA its connected!!!(All this just took 3 mins)6)Coverage: Router which I got is providing me a good coverage all around my 870sqft 2 bhk apartment..7) Inside the box: Router, Ethernet cable for connecting to laptop during installation, adapter, invoice.8) During Installation it asks for Network Security Key which at first give the 8 digit number at the back of your wi fi router. Then once again it will recommend you to change the password where you give your new password.9 I personally feel its best at Rs.707 range. I am sure am not regretting for buying this product til this point..10) Using it for 9 hrs continuously and its never got disconnected...its Worth the shot!!!!!! OK, lets get the negative part out of the way first.Nowhere in the blurb does it tell you that this will not work as a stand alone router. You can't just plug into your ADSL line directly, you have to go via your original router or modem. This means this product IS NOT a router but a wireless network adapter. Please correct this guys, it's very misleading.However. I bought this to replace (initial thought) an unreliable Netgear wireless router. What I have had to do is hard wire this adapter into the Netgear LAN port. Doing this has created a reliable wireless connection that is much faster then I was experienceing previously. I can't fault it's performance or reliability.It loses a star for the poor product description.

I can't comment on how the router performs as a home router, doing all your wireless networking duties, but i bought this to use as a pseudo wireless card for my Raspberry Pi. Setup from the box took all of five minutes. I set the router to WDS mode, connected to my wireless network, disabled DHCP and wireless SSID broadcast and that was it. Granted its not the greatest distance from my router but it certainly has managed everything i've asked of it so far, streaming movies at a consistent 1.5Mb/s.Anecdotal speed testing gives throughput at a steady 5.5Mb/s (in windows file transfer dialogue) which is around half that of my laptops wifi card, but for £13 is that really your primary concern? Its far superior than any 11g router i've used, and would be quicker if it wasn't in WDS mode, so think of it as a budget way to get 11n in your home - most laptops are, most ISP supplied routers aren't.Top marks from me, and i'll be getting another.

I bought this to set up as a repeater but when I log on to it with IP I cannot seem to see any repeater mode. all my devices see it and the signal is good but it will not connect it would have been nice to have a telephone line socket on the back so to set up on an ethernet, then I could turn my ethernet old router into the repeater! I may be doing something wrong but it seems not so easy as some I upgraded the firmware okay. shame that it has a few glitches.

I bought this wifi router for my dorm room as it had a slick design and a cheap price. I must say I do not regret it at all.After a week of intensive use I can say it didn't crash on me once. The lack of an antenna does limit its range but this is not a problem if you're only looking forward to cover 1 or 2 consecutive rooms.The presence of LAN connections is also great as you don't have to choose between only wireless or only wired as opposed to what happens in some of the other cheap offerings in this area.Setup was quick and fast and the administration console is very intuitive.

I have two of these providing coverage as access points in a large property and another isolating lodgers Internet access from the rest of the home network. They are a great little cable router by any measure, well made, and for around £10, fantastic value. I now have several pieces of TP-Link equipment and all of it has proven excellent and great value for money and I now seek it out. Inside there is a comprehensive suite of settings, including firewall, port forwarding, multiple SSID's and Access point wifi isolation, WPS and WDS. I never have to reboot these boxes and they sit there merrily flashing away providing solid services. Highly recommended.
