High quality field jacket from Schott (made in China). Outer material feels very durable and repels water exceptionally well. Looking at the photos of this product on Amazon would suggest the black has a matt finish. In fact the finish has an almost waxed look which is very eye catching. I would imagine this jacket is as close to waterproof as you are going to get without taped seams. Plenty of pockets too, including two inner ones and hip pockets as well as the visible front patch pockets. Generous interior padding (quilted in a sand colour) will keep you warm on all but the very coldest days. A part of the interior lining (this is quilted again in a dark grey colour) around the collar and front of the jacket is zipped inside and is removable. The cuffs are very well elasticated to keep out any drafts and the sleeve endings can be tightened further using the attached velcro straps. All the zippers run smoothly and feel sturdy and durable. Stitching and construction are all excellent with high quality materials used throughout. Most of the pockets are popper fastened and secure with a very satisfying click. There are draw strings inside the jacket for a more tailored fit, but believe me you will never use them. Word of warning, this item runs very small. I am 5 10 150lbs 38 chest slim build and usually a size small fits me just right, not too tight and not baggy either. Based on the reviews of others, I ordered a size medium and I'm glad I did. The jacket fits me perfectly wearing just a shirt or t-shirt underneath, which is how I intended wearing it, so no problems there. However, adding a thin fleece or jumper on top of that and things get just a little tight, bordering on uncomfortable, but only in the area under the arms. I have owned field jackets in the past and usually they were "roomy" even in size small, but this one is cut very similar to a biker jacket (surprise surprise from Schott), close to the body, tight around the waist with narrow arms and tight in the armpits. For anybody packing a belly or muscle in the upper body, I would say go at least one size up from what you would normally wear for a tailored fit. If you intend layering with wooly sweaters etc., definitely go two sizes up. The jacket looks fantastic, much much better than the photos on Amazon. Also, this jacket is a good deal longer on me than it appears on the model. The hem rides a good three or four inches lower. Very pleased with the fit and everything else about this jacket. I cannot deduct any stars for the odd sizing since I already knew about it before buying. So Its a well deserved five stars from me.

Giubbotto "FIELD JACKET", stile militare, prodotto dalla "Schott NYC" brand europeo (quindi non di produzione Made in USA), è un capo di qualità, con cuciture senza difetti e materiali resistenti. E' un capo adatto principalmente alla stagione invernale, in quanto ha una trapuntatura interna (di colore beige) che lo renderebbe troppo caldo per l'autunno: come riferimento io vivo a Napoli e gli inverni non sono più particolarmente freddi, e, pur essendo io un tipo freddoloso, a volte ho necessità di togliere il giubbotto perchè troppo caldo. Ad aumentare la resistenza agli agenti atmosferici vi è una ulteriore imbottitura rimovibile con zip nella parte anteriore, che si chiude con bottoni a clip. Per quanto riguarda il materiale esterno, si tratta di tessuto sintetico di tipo tecnico opaco, particolarmente adatto a mantenere isolati dal freddo, dal vento e dalla pioggia (durante i temporali meglio stare a casa :-). I polsini sono di lana elastica, a scomparsa nelle maniche, così da contribuire all'isolamento dal freddo per coloro che vanno sulle Due Ruote. Come tutti i giubbotti della "Schott" anche questo è pensato per l'ergonomicità e per portare tutto il necessario con sè: ci sono, all'esterno, quattro tasche frontali chiuse con bottoni a clip, adatte per tenere al sicuro i propri oggetti, più altre due tasche laterali scaldamani aperte; all'interno ci sono tasche per entrambi i lati, più una tasca, in basso a destra, pensata esclusivamente per lo smartphone. Dal punto di vista estetico e della vestibilità è un giubbotto molto bello, adatto sia ad un utilizzo casual che elegante. Ha una vestibilità slim, e questo è da considerare bene in funzione della scelta della taglia. Come tutti i giubbotti della Schott, è pensato per persone altre più di 175 cm. e questo è da considerare, in quanto la sagomatura dei fianchi per persone più basse come me potrebbe dare un pò fastidio (il giubbotto a me arriva fino alla parte più larga delle anche). Io ho acquistato la taglia M e sono 172 cm. di altezza ed ho un peso un pò variabile, attualmente 76 Kg., ma arrivo anche a 70 Kg., indosso prevalentemente giubbotti di misura 48/M: il giubbotto calza bene di spalle, ma se si indossano sotto maglioni più pesanti e con la presenza della trapuntatura supplementare anteriore, davanti siamo al limite della vestibilità. Ma anche in questo caso il giubbotto è comodo (un giubbotto di pelle necessiterebbe di sicuro di una misura più grande!). Come già segnalato da altre persone, le maniche sono abbastanza slim, quindi per coloro che fanno palestra forse sarebbe opportuno salire di una misura. Prodotto senz'altro consigliato, sia per qualità che sotto il punto di vista dello stile. Servizio Amazon sempre impeccabile e feedback del venditore positivo.
