desertcart.com: Batman: Revolution (Audible Audio Edition): Will Damron, John Jackson Miller, Random House Audio: Books Review: Phenomenal - This was the easiest 5 star review I’ve given all year. What a phenomenal tie in novel to a couple of movies that I enjoyed in my childhood and continue to enjoy this day. JJM is known for his tie in work but I think these two Batman novels might be his best work to date. It is very clear that he is a big fan of the Burton novels as all the voices sound perfect, the Riddler which was so awful in Batman Forever was given his due as both genius, deeply disturbed and forgotten about which you find as a reader you have real sympathy for. I was captivated by his story. We also see the tie in to Batman Returns with Max Shrek, Selina Kyle and the quickly mentioned but expanded upon in this book business associate of Shrek Fred Atkins (as well as his fate). My only disappointment (very small in the grand scheme of things) was the Camille story as it did closely resemble what we got in The Dark Knight Rises of the vigilante terrorists trying to destroy Gotham by attacking it’s wealthy directly. There’s a lot of focus there but I do give the author credit in creating new obstacles for Batman to overcome. It is a shame that JJM will not continue this series as I would love to see a novel after Batman Returns as there are so many interesting aspects that could be explored like his relationship with Selina Kyle, the fallout of villain Max Shrek and I think in the hands of JJM we would get a much more satisfying story than the movies that followed Returns. Review: Awesome! - Awesome book! I loved it just as much as Batman: Resurrection. I'm just sad that in the end author's note he said he wasn't sure if there would be anymore or not. I'm hoping someday we get more, because these stories have been great and I would love, love, love to read more!

Riddle Me This... Why 500 Pages?
This one is a little convoluted and a bit too long. Lot going on that doesn't quite tie together. Suprisingly little Batman. That said, loved the context this adds to Batman Returns. Good vacation read. Definitely hoping for more Batman 89.

Long Live the Bat
Another great read! Picking right up here the first book Batman: Resurrection ended! Fills the gap between Burtons Batman and Batman Returns films! Did not want the story to end. If you are a Batman fan then do not miss out on this book!

Riddle me this
If you enjoyed Resurrection, you’ll love Revolution. These stories fit so well in Burtons world, and if you’ve read the comic series Batman ‘89 and Batman ‘89 Echoes, these stories weave together in a way that builds upon itself with every page. Highly recommend these books to any fan!

More, please!
It's great to see John Jackson Miller back in this universe. Very cool work and I love how he tells a quality story while expanding this Burton universe. More, please!

Absolutely horrible. I am as big a fan of Keaton’s Batman as it gets, tattoo and all, but this is just embarrassing. The authors prose is amateurish, like in the last book, but he makes it even worse this time by adding really silly things to this version of Batman. For example: the Batvan! Yes! He thought this version of Batman would like to have a white van that can armor up into a black armored van, which Batman himself calls “the Batvan”. Is this satire? Two pages later a hostage tries to talk to Gordon and the commissioner doesn’t understand what the person means by “I am hiding in the dunny”. Batman then mouthes to Gordon the world “toilet” to explain what said hostage means. Glorious, riveting stuff! So, if you want below mediocre writing and a take on Batman as thought out by an actual 6 year old, this should be a great read. I truly do not understand who can like this.

Another fantastic book from John Jackson Miller. Well written and constantly engaging, I love being back in the Batman world from the Tim Burton movies. My only gripe, and it’s a minor one, is that we don’t get too many descriptions of the city and its environments which would really help sell that we’re in this fantastical gothic world rather than a more generic American city such as the one we saw in the Nolan trilogy. I hope this book does well because I sure would love to read a third, maybe even a prequel to Matt Reeves’ The Batman?

Reading this scratches that itch for a continuation of the 1989 Batman movie adding layers of story and cannon to the entire Batman arc.
