This was for my eight-year-old grandson's birthday. Out of all his gifts, this was the first thing he wanted to create something with. I'm not sure why others had problems, it's not built at NASA. The long pieces are slightly bendable which really was a plus with some projects he put together. I would have worried more if they were stiff plastic sticks if they broke and splintered. The bigger the creation, the softer plastic did bend a little due to the overall weight. He made one design using every stick that was big enough to be a wall divider. Obviously, that one did tip over, but it made it more fun seeing how far he could go. It's great for learning balance and leverage and just good hand-eye coordination. He has a six-year-old brother that also plays with it. I don't remember the age range, but with parental help, younger kids can enjoy it too. It's really a good gender-neutral toy...both boys and girls seem to have fun with it. There are enough pieces to divide and let several kids make their own creations. Loved it! I put 4 stars for easy to assemble for children younger than 7-8. And 4 stars for sturdiness for those bigger creations that might be too top heavy etc.

My kids LOVE this building set! It's great because they can build things that they can fit inside of, crawl through, and even wear (silly helmets, ect). This is a really fun toy. The sticks are basically thick straws. they are relatively easy use, but if they get bent and creased than they will always bend in that spot, just like a plastic drink straw.

I had these saved for a rainy day and today pulled them out for my kids (ages 3, 6 & 7). What a hit!! They played for hours - these turned into space suits, astronaut helmets and a space station. These look so simple (and they are) but what a perfect toy for building imaginations. There were a couple misformed pieces but overall everything was in good shape. The 800 piece set was more than enough for all three kids to make whatever they wanted without conflict. Appreciate they came in their own sturdy container with handle. Awesome toy!

The kids absolutely loved this toy - played with it for hours as soon as I put it in the room. They made "sky scrapers" and were very happy. My only complaint is the thinness of the straws but that's not a deal breaker. Just knocked off one star for it. Overall, a great purchase and happy I bought it.

Great set for geometric reasoning. I will use these for team building activities in my 8th grade class. Great way to discover parallel, perpendicular and skew lines, even to build a net.

Gifted these to our kid’s 3rd grade class and they love to use it for rainy indoor recess days. Easy to store, build, and break down. They build so many fun things!

We bought the 300 piece kit. This product is so well done. Simple but flexible. I can play this with all my kids, which are from 6 to 11 y/o. The limit is your mind. The only thing that would be great to have is connectors that allow other angles. So, manufacturer, if you are reading, an add on of jacks with different angles would be awesome!
