Why are ppl so excited about this game? I meen there is only a short trial. How do you know it would be so good?

I know it's already been said, but it can't be said enough. Futimo Ueda's team created ICO and Shadow of the Colosus, two of the most innovative, beautiful, and unique games ever made. They were mesmerizing and pushed the limits of their systems beyond what anyone at the time thought possible. This game was supposed to come out for ps3 but Sony kept pushing it back. Loyal ICO fans have been waiting for it for years. You can guarantee that anything they make is going to be outstanding.

Do you have to play shadow of the colossus and ico to get excited for this?

All three are in the same universe. While Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are entirely different games from a gameplay perspective, they share common lore. This is especially apparent in the ending of Colossus. So to answer your question, no, you don't have to play the others. However, as people have said, they're both absolutely stellar games so they're well worth playing anyway.
