Didn't Work!
Do not rent this movie from Prime. We rented this movie and 43 minutes in the video had a glitch and then the voice was off. We tried to go out and restart and even restarted our firestick to solve the issue.I was then unable to get in contact with Amazon to fix it, or refund the rental amount. I was only directed to "instant chat" which was telling me I couldn't cancel the order because it has already been viewed. It asked if I needed more help, but I was unable to type "yes" there was no box, and I kept being re-directed to the chat page. Issue unresolved.

Glitch
The movie is a great movie but Amazon ripped me off because the movie stopped playing halfway through and then when it started again the audio and video tracks we're so out of sync I was watching one scene and listening to the previous one.I tried over and over to get it to work with no luck so I payed full price to rent half a movie.

This download is defective. About halfway through the audio gets completely out of sync with the movie.

Disappointed
Great movie but the streaming was horrible. Very disappointed that half way in the movie the stream merged audio with some weird music then the audio came back for the movie but the audio was behind by about three seconds for the rest of movie. I attempted several things to adjust the audio. I stopped it , restarted it. Tried moving it bacj a few minutes... I even restarted the movie then unplugged my fire stick and restarted it again. Nothing seemed to work. I fast forwarded the movie to the place I was having trouble with it before and finished watching the movie with the audio lag... disappointedly... I am honestly surprised, this is the first bad experience I have had with Amazon video I watch and purchase and rent all the time... I’m am however less inclined to use amazon to stream my videos, there are many others service that I can use

Clint Eastwood=( 120 minutes + your time) = 6/10 rating, ah, Its Clint= OK
They had a chance to make an Unforgiven and they blew it. It starts out fine but when they take Clint hostage it all just goes off the rails, Duvall, Saxon, Eastwood, Stroud, etc., they had the talent, I will use an antiquated term here from the old TV Guide...uneven, but as I have shown with the formula above, if its Clint, it`s worth the time invested.

Like Clint? See This
Whether or not you get the unedited version, this is a great western. Yeah, I said great and I meant it. The number of westerns that are even close to anyone's reality are too miniscule to number - unless you own an electron microscope, so one must judge by how close the possibility to reality the movie is. This one gets pretty close on several points. When you see it, add 'em up for yourself ... I'm not gonna waste time here. What makes a presentation like this stand out is the acting, direction, scenery, photography, and plot (story). This gets it all. It is fun to watch Clint gear up for dispatching the bad guys, and get it done in time to take the lovely Stella Garcia out for dinner (We must presume, because they hadn't eaten for a while, had they?). ! I thimk. From the posturing, phoney lawman, to the fool who deliberately makes our hero his enemy in the opening scenes, the characters are just deep enough to matter. Bob Duvall is an excellent villian ... read in slimy and murderous with a touch of snake crap thrown in for good measure, and John Savage as the simplistic, Machiavellian Garabaldi, and you've got a good mix. Stella is great as the woman in the middle of it and Clint as the revenge driven hero make a good pairing for the "into the sunset" ending. A satisfying story set in the old west. Great. Sammy

big jake meets eastwood. not his worst, but definitely not his best.
more a john wayne, which is always good, but kind of "kid"-die pun intended. starts off pretty good. i like all the scenes with him and Lamar. definitely make you laught. east wood always a great tough guy. really pulls all those scenes off.the lead chamas and the girl were utter cheese. again, didn't hate them or anything, but by the end the whole thing is wearing thin. maybe the problem was not enough gun fights? don't know the problem, but definitely mediocre.5 stars, Josie Wales, fist full of dollars, for a few dollars more, etc. 3 stars = Joe Kidd. best part is probably first 30-40 minutes.

Underrated Sturges/Eastwood western looks great in hi-def
Clint Eastwood's fourth American western 'Joe Kidd' (Malpaso/Universal, 1972) is an understated, underrated late contribution to director John Sturges' ('The Magnificent Seven,' 'The Great Escape') estimable oeuvre. Considered a potboiler by some, with its low-key performances and gimmick-free antihero-saves-the-day plot structure, there are complexities here that don't meet the eye on first viewing (e.g., Eastwood's titular character is arguably the most fully realized to that point in his career) with a stellar supporting cast, arresting cinematography and a surprising number of iconic tough-guy showdowns. Universal's 2014 Blu-ray release looks fantastic, making use of their vivid 2007 restoration while nicely preserving the grain of the original stock in hi-def. Movie earns 3 1/2 stars; presentation (sadly, still, no extras) 4-minus.

Workmanline western
A good film as far as it goes, if draggy in places. Not the best film Clint Eastwood has been in, but fine for a rainy Sunday afternoon.
