On hot days it will absorb heat and sometimes be hot to the touch for a short time after you start driving if you have parked in full sunlight.Options:(1) Lace a leather sleeve around the handle.(2) Buy a set of large (good looking) motorcycle handle grips and slide one onto the shifter.(3) Cut a length of foam AC insulating tube and slide it onto the shifter.(4) Leave it alone. Its not a big deal. Why cover up a good looking shifter? The gray option looks a little like gun metal.UPDATE and..Still looks brand new. Atill works great!And on another topic about this itwm...I have been asked this question about its compatibility with at least 10 or 15 vehicles. Unforrunately, since I have never owened any of them I can't be sure of the answer.What I can say is, that using Amazons Automitive search function works. This is different from the search at the top of the page. You must enter all your info (Make, Model, Year, etc.). The system will list the components you ask for and tell you either "This will fit your ...". Or, "This will not fit your..."This is how I knew to order this item. It is a well made and good looking replacement for an Green Automatic 2000 Honda Accord EX.I have used this function successfully for several parts needed for different vehicles. Only once did it fail when it said that spark plug wires would fit the Accord. This was incorrect because the car uses coils.Obviously, the plug wires were ignored in favor of the coils which were also in the search results. They were bought and installed with good results.I'd rather not guess and send some Gent, or Gentress the wrong answer. We all know how frustrating it is to get a part back to the shop (ie. Fit perfect, had to flip the adaptor so it actually pressed the button on the shifter down so I picked the hardest one out of the 3, dropped her on and tightened it all down with no preload of the button and it works amazingly. I was actually surprised I didn’t have to do my jimmy rigging but I’m happy 😃

I went to put this shifter on my Jeep. It slipped down about halfway, not far enough to shift my car. And is now stuck and will not come off. Also did not come with instructions but should have been easy enough based on instructions in the details. I did exactly as it said to. Now if we cannot get it to come off I will need to replace the whole mechanism. Either way i still won't have a new shifter that i obviously need! VERY ANGRY!!!

Worked great for 98 Honda Civic CX. Would be nice if it had instructions to do the installation. I figured that you had to cut to size the rubber adapter so the button would be able to press down the shift gear and there wasn't constant metal to metal contact. Very solid metal in my opinion.

Fit perfect on my 1999 Acura Integra. Definitely improved the look, but as the stock one has a side push button this just made it worse ergonomically.It comes with some set screws which go into the three holes on the handle, that's what holds it in place against the pole of the shifter. It gives it a pretty firm hold. The thread size for this knob and the thread size on the shifter pole on this car are actually the same so I could use a screw to go into the pole along with 2 of the set screws for an even better hold. I didn't do that though because it would sit higher than I want it to be.The button is hard to push down and and is quite noisy as it comes, but if you take the spring out and cut it shorter it reduces the tension and makes it much easier to press down. To get rid of the noise I just put some grease up where the spring is, along with a bit on the sides where the button rubs the knob since that also makes a bit of noise. I didn't use any of the rubber pieces included as I wanted the shifter lower and it worked perfectly fine with the way this shifter works.

Looks alright but buzzes with an annoying vibration.

Good quality, durable, easy to install. Just what I needed. Not too heavy.

I gave this product a 5 basicly, its easy to install but no directions, If people want this to fit on your 03 to 08 Auto nissan 350z, Listen closly put on three adapters inside the Shifter smallest to biggest and CUT the 3rd adapter in half thats that biggest one to fit around the shifter push down button, If you dont cut it in half and just put the adapter fully around it IT WILLL cover it and stop the Button from Engaging and wont shift, itll stop the new shifter from pushing down, So cut the 3rd biggest adapter in half, Rememeber push the adapters all the way Through the spring and Up to the Push down button of the new Shifter Hope this helps🤘
