Good knock-off, good value
For a fraction of the price of a high-end pipe lighter brand, this is a very nice reproduction. The weight is good, it looks good. The tamper took me a few seconds to figure out -- you have to rotate it 180 degrees to remove. You don't have to worry about losing it from it falling out. It fits tightly. Tamper has small slotted screwdriver to adjust flame (I wish my other butane lighters had this). That screwdriver also serves as a pipe pick. Filling went okay, the fit is a bit tight. I twisted the can back and forth slightly to improve fit and reduce leakage during filling. This lighter puts out butane as soon as the arm is lifted. If you don't flick the striker wheel immediately, you're spewing butane everywhere. Be conscious of that. I feel like this design works better left-handed, otherwise you're flipping the lighter back and forth.

Looks nice, doesn't work too well.
Its a neat little lighter, it works ok for the first day or two and eventually has a lot of issues. The flame is inconsistent even when its adjusted. For instance, if I lower the fuel flow to make it smaller, the next day it might be really big again, or way too small, so adjustment is constant. It eventually stops being able to hold fuel at all and it just wastes any butane you put in it and loses it over night, making it completely useless in its most basic function. Its a pretty useless paperweight.Would be super neat if it worked more reliably. The flint striker is small so it may be difficult for some to strike it reliably, wasn't an issue for me personally though.Lastly, if this matters to anyone, it is very very sensitive to any wind, you can breathe wrong and the flame goes out.

Much Nicer Than Expected!
I really love the style of this lighter, but I had many qualms about whether they could produce a quality, retro lighter at such a great price. All my misgivings were put to bed when I opened the box. This is a quality piece! The machine work is great, and the fitment is superb. It has a nice weight to it, and has a VERY handy pipe tamper tucked in the bottom of the lighter. My only "negative" comment? This is a retro lighter. If you leave the arm up, it will empty the butane chamber. Or if you play with it a lot because you like it. Or if you just really like lighting it up, over an over. So, yes, that is NOT a fault of the lighter, but of the man using it!Seriously, if you or a friend enjoy classic films from the Golden Age of Hollywood, you have seen this lighter and will love this lighter.Simply put: It beckons from another era whispering "Class"

It worked great…at first
I bought this because it was a more reasonable price for an IM Corona style lighter. It worked great for the first couple weeks but now the butane will not flow correctly from the spout. When I open the top, the butane won’t exit-even though it’s fully filled with butane. Sometimes I’ll hear the butane exiting when the lid is fully closed. Very disappointed-I had high hopes for this.

A reasonable alternative as long as you're realistic about it.
I actually own the IM Corona Old Boy that this lighter is clearly meant to emulate. I bought this because I love using my Old Boy but I don't always want to take it on the go w me. It's an expensive lighter w sentimental value and losing it would suck. This lighter is chunkier than my old boy and feels more cheaply made (because it is. $100 vs $20 lighter, obviously) beyond that it's fine. If you like the style and function but don't want to spend $100+ on a lighter then this is a reasonable alternative. This lighter is most likely chrome plated pot-metal so be prepared for flaking with long-term use. (That said, parts of my Old Boy are also plated). The Old Boy feels better in the hand and functions more smoothly. It's also got a brass butane tank whereas this is undoubtedly plastic and won't last forever. Up to you. This isn't an heirloom lighter.

Cool Looking but don’t hold up long at all
Worked awesome for about two weeks then failed to hold any butane for longer than ten minutes as it started to leak and became an over priced waste of space ...

Got it specifically to light my pipes tobacco smokes
Got it today and I’m very pleased with it so far.Tried the flint and after a couple of dry trials, started to spark fine.Filled with Zippo Butane Fuel and left it rest until warmed up to room temperature. Turned the gas adjustment to minimum and tested. I had to turn around two full turns until I got a flame, did it half turn at a time.Found that the adjustment is not very fine, as ¼ turn was the difference from good flame to too-much gas that (thankfully) failed to ignite. But now that I know, I can live with this. The first four to five trials, even though the lighter worked on the first strike, the flame was too yellow and sooty, smelled of burned oils and sooth was deposited on several parts of the lighter. As I was testing, I didn’t leave the lighter “on” for more than 6 seconds each time to prevent possible overheating. Now the lighter seems to burn clean, but will continue trying for a while before lighting any tobacco with it.Right hand use. I like the fact that the flame is at an angle away from my body when striking the flint and is not an issue to turn it to toast the tobacco keeping the flip cover away of the flame.I received the lighter loose in the Amazon brown box with a generic black box (open) and a nylon(?) bag inside a nice fabric pouch, no instructions. I tried the tamper/pick tool and found out that I had to gently pull the tool until it STOPS, then turn it 90 degree and it comes out smoothly; reverse to store it.I will take care of this lighter as it cost hundreds of dollars and, so far, I don’t see any reason that will not last as it was, time will tell. For an IM Corona Old Boy look alike for this price, I’m very happy …. so far.
