Watch out for leaching
Applied brilliant white satin to a well rubbed down varnish on 25 year old interior pine cladding in a conservatory. Against recommendation, covered varnish in two coats. Bare wood cladding and architrave took eight coats to stop brown pigment leaching through. Sadolin customer service most helpful and refunded cost of one 2.5l tin and recommend use of aluminium primer on any bare wood.
