This book is invaluable for the beginner. The descriptions are very accurate which has been very useful for this beginner snowshoer. Since I can rely that the descriptions are accurate I can pick the most appropriate trails as I progress. I also find that he outlines those trails that are exclusively for snowshoeing and which are shared by cross country skiers, so you know what to expect.
