A Blind Corner - Kindle edition by Macy, Caitlin. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Use features like bookmarks, note taking and highlighting while reading A Blind Corner. Review: Sharp, funny prose about flawed women - Caitlin Macy is an incredible observer of people. Her stories are witty, real, and unsparing in their social commentary about the desires and flaws of a certain type of striver. She writes great sentences, too, and each story in this collection packs a punch. Review: Macy is a great story teller - I would give this somewhere in between a 3 and 4! It was a very interesting read. Each story felt like the perfect length but at the same time, not. I would just be getting interested in the characters and their story when it would end. The length of each short story was perfect to keep me hooked, but the endings of the stories felt somewhat incomplete and always left me wanting more. That felt like the point - the abrupt endings forced me to reflect on the stories more than I would have otherwise. This is my first book by Caitlin Macy, but I found her to be a captivating story teller and writer. I would recommend this book and I wouldn't be opposed to re-reading it someday!

Enjoyable read with great characters
Tore through this book, even though I'm usually not a lover of short stories.

Stays with You
So, the first story ( "One of Us") is up there with "The Lottery" as it is almost a perfect horror story... there is a fleeting line about a lease which ties up the misery perfectly....and the story stays with you and makes you think about it for days after. I really enjoyed the author's rendition of the inner monologues of characters and the fact most women ( I suppose men too but who cares?) are their own worst critics. Even the story that I didn't like, which has a great title of "We Don't Believe in that Crap" makes me think about WHY I don't like it and what it says about me. Macy has that deft turn of phrase and an ear for dialogue what makes each one of these stories unique but so readable. Yes, good summer reading but a collection really for all seasons. I like to bore people by telling them the plots of books/movies/article that excited me and I am afraid some friends are in for a recital about this collection.

Witty & engaging
Caitlin Macy's "A Blind Corner" is a must-read that's out just in time for summer reading. Although this well written short story collection is a far cry from your average beach book, I found I couldn't put it down and went straight from one chapter to the next. Macy places the reader in different countries amongst a cast of vivid characters, but always manages to tell a compelling tale, some with a lesson. I appreciated the laugh-out-loud moments, along with the cringeworthy ones. It's rare to find a story collection that is a page turner. I highly recommend it.

Incredible writer ! Great book
A friend of mine told me to buy this. I rarely read books. Bought it and was astonished by how well written it was and I truly enjoyed it! A rarity for me.
