Why can’t this be sent to Northern Ireland?

Very sorry that will be do with Amazon Policy, I expect its to do with it being on the FBA light programme which means first class large post, beyond that I am very sorry, as I just dont know its our product but all logistics are done by Amazon, kind regards Andy

Is this cable compliant with the new 2018 cable safety rules?

Response from Maypole Not aware of any changes to legislation in the UK. Manufacturers standards, insurer recommendations seem to have been interpreted as regulation. Around 5 years ago, many European countries interpreted R55 requirement for the use of safety break away cables making it illegal to pass the cable around the tow ball, but not the UK. – see attached. The strong recommendation now is to use a specifically provided attachment point (4985B) and a cable with a carabiner type clip (all of ours). More recently a UK campaign promoted the good use of cables and also identified spring clip (see attached document for spring clip type of clip) cables as a potential hazard, particularly if connected directly to a specified attachment point. The suggestion made for spring clip cables is to pass them around the towing bracket and clipping back to the cable itself as this reduces the risk of the clip failing during use. It seems that from 2018 UK caravans are only fitted with a carabiner type cable (NCC?) and this information has been promoted by caravan insurers and Mr Tim Booth.

Is this suitable for a 4x3 single axle, none braked trailer?

This breakaway cable is suitable for caravans and trailers with braking systems. If your trailer does not have brakes but reliant on your vehicle then not required
