Years later, no regrets
Although the initial cost is more than I wanted to spend, it was definitely worth every dollar, I received this intake 6 or 7 years ago. Once or twice a year I clean the filter, and it still works great, and sounds better. I really like how this kit comes with the heat shield to prevent the motor from taking in the hot air from the engine bay, by creating a barrier to the side of, and behind the filter. This kit, along with upgraded injectors, 2.5" cat back exhaust, has me consistently getting 20mpg-23mpg with my 2003 4.0 jeep grand cherokee on 32" tires, not bad for a vehicle of that size/weight, 20 years old, and approaching 300k mile mark

Not the best, but very good for the price.
Debated between this kit and the other K&N FITK that comes with the aluminized tubing and this cheap kit is actually better overall IMHO. If you have a 4.0L engine, this K&N kit actually intakes more air (CFM) then a 4.0L can handle so it works out really well. I now have right around an 10-15 HP increase. Not sure about overall torque increases, but you definitely can feel this kit working. Fast off the line, smoother/shorter shift timings. What most people don't do though is disconnect the negative terminal on their car battery and this is a must. You should do this (as the K&N directions say to) for at least a couple hours. Doing so resets your on-board computer's MPG ratings and overall "user driving style" calibrations. Starting off fresh with the Jeep's "Average MPG ratings" I got my Jeep back to around 15 MPG in no time and it will most likely increase even more as I drive more on the highway. Took about 150 miles of driving after the battery disconnect to get it to around 13 MPG or so of an overall average. This upgrade is the only upgrade I've done so far and it alone is a good upgrade all by itself. Although the K&N filters do come pre-lubed (Oiled), I highly recommend buying a K&N 99-5000 Aerosol Recharger Filter Care Service Kit and further lube/oil your filter included with these FITK kits in order for it to be fully lubed/oiled. May depend on the condition of your filter when buying either a new filter, or these types of kits. But mine came looking pink-ish and even near white-ish colored in some areas of the filter and you don't want this. It should be solid red/dark pink colored. That is how you know it's fully lubed/oiled as needed. Whenever you apply oil to your K&N filter(s), be sure to do this well away from your vehicle and allow it to sit outside or in your garage on cardboard or something where the access oil can drain off and allow the filter to dry (approx 4 hours or so without the aid of fans) before installing the filter into your vehicle. This way you won't have K&N oil dripping while the filter is installed onto your vehicle (K&N FITK). Also is a good idea to fully disconnect your throttle body and fully clean that if there is any dark gunk build-up inside and after your re-install the TB, spray the spring lever and the inner cup with WD40, which can allow smoother action of the throttle system and help prevent gunk build-up. Since the K&N filters can go so long in between cleaning cycles (or replacement) I highly suggest you always inspect the throttle body and clean it as needed whenever your cleaning/lubing your filter. Just becareful not to use any harsh chemicals/cleaners on the throttle body and there it has sensitive sensors installed on it. For actually cleaning the throttle body, I suggest using a Carb Cleaner spray.

Well worth it
Took me 15 minutes to install, it’s loud when you full throttle or just cruising but dangerous for how much fun it is I almost got pulled over twice for hitting the gas too much!

Super easy install
I am by no means good with tinkering with cars, but this was super easy to install - literally just some bolts and washers. I haven't had it on long enough to determine performance gains but it looks and sounds great.Make sure you disconnect the negative battery terminal like the instructions say so that it works correctly upon install!

Noticed improvement right away!
I feel like this product was a little expensive, but that could be because I don't like to spend money on this kind of stuff. I did notice my jeep ran smoother right away and also had improved mileage!

Once I installed this system I was immediatly happy with the look first off
Once I installed this system I was immediatly happy with the look first off, however the best part was testing the system out! I played with the TB"throttle body" and you can hear the differeance imediatly, went for a test drive and wow what a difference and great sound! Before you put this syatem on be sure to clean youre TB thourghly yo should do this at least 2-3times a year, this will help with responce flow and performace! When putting the filter on wipe the inside lip of the filter and outside housing tube with engine degreaser for a firm fit, little side note youre going to want the clam further up from the filter closer to the lip. Overall great system for AMC's inline 4.0 Six cylinder!
