As you embark on another night of dirty dishes, you load up the sink with suds and let everything soak for a minute before you begin to wash everything to make it easier. Your silverware and utensils line the bottom of the sink. You don’t want to lose any of those to the garbage disposal again but you need a way to protect them from the forceful garbage disposal in case any are left behind. Pair this stainless steel strainer up with sinks that match its material for a uniform look. This safeguards your drain from accidentally sucking down items that are not meant to go down the garbage disposal, like silverware, food, or small utensils. The monochromatic hue is easy to coordinate with the sink design in your kitchen and makes it easy to locate when it’s time to do dishes. Designed to fit most kitchen sinks, add this to your sink and protect your kitchenware from going down the drain with the food and mess.

Doesn't work as it should...
It did fit my sink, but is so cheaply made, that I don't think it will last long. The metal is very thin and the rubber stopper just slides freely on the "plastic", not metal stem and there is no twist and lock motion to use as a plug/strainer as there should be, and if there were, the stem would most likely snap because it's plastic... You have to manually move the rubber stopper on the stem by hand for it to be used as a strainer and then back again to use as a plug. I'm going to see if I can use the rubber stopper on my original sink plug/strainer since that is part that has dried and cracked over the years needing replacement and the rest is sturdy stainless steel and durable.

Pretty Pictures Help But Be Specific!
The sellers shouldn't use the word "Standard" without giving specific measurements. In plumbing, it's a "whatever, so-so,close enough or about there" term. Many viewers frequently ask about this and similar products for specific dimensions. The stem drop is 1". The top edge outer diameter of the basket is 3 1/4". The bottom of the basket is 2 3/4". It will fit a Kenmore and Insinkerator garbage disposer drain hub. It does help to prevent accidental drops of utensils but so-called stopper(large black rubber plug) at the bottom is of no use over the disposer. I tried using this basked over a non-disposer drain hub by adjusting the height of the rubber stopper but it fit but leaked very badly. I bought a fixed stopper instead.2/9/15 UPDATEThe stem is chrome plated plastic, very loose fitting, flaking of like bad sunburn so I replaced it with a 1/4-20x1-1/2" S.S. carriage bolt(with back nuts)as a lifting stem. Now. It's all stainless steel.I've did the same with the rubber stopper so now I have two stoppers.

Works perfect!
Works great, I was feeling frisky and didn't measure my sink at all before buying but I got lucky and it fits great! Only thing that's off is the knob on the bottom that's supposed to slide into the sinks drain is too short and doesn't actually reach the rectangleish hole in my sink. But really makes no difference at all in its function, I definitely recommend! The first picture is my old one which I hated. The second picture is the Good Living Stainless steel strainer that I now use.

Does not work
This strainer/stopper does not function as a stopper. I've tried every way to get the black rubber stopper to hold water while I fill my sink. Does not work. I do not recommend.

Leaks an no open/close setting.
Stopper did not prevent water from leaking through - not enough contact area in my opinion. The draft of the stopper is only 8 mm. The one that I want to replace is 11. There is no open/close locking mechanism. The reason I want to replace it is because rubber has hardened and does not prevent water from leaking anymore. Wish I could find exact replacement but none of these manufactures give precise measurements Here are the "precise" measurements for this item as best as I could measure with a ruler. Rubber stopper: small diameter is 43 mm and large is 49 mm. Metal Strainer is 83 mm outer and 73 mm inner.
