Loved Womack's honesty and the insight into his life; as well as his music. Review: Excellent read!! - Really informative book seeing the connections Womack had to so many artists. He was a pivotal player in the music game pretty much his entire life. Nice to hear his take on all of these great artists as well. Very raw, very real and extremely introspective. True history lesson and overall a phenomenal read for all.

Good Book
I learned a lot about Bobby Womack reading this book, but I have to say I was particularly disgusted with the way in which Bobby Womack discussed having a sexual relationship with his step-daughter (Sam Cooke's biological daughter. Such a shame. He totally minimized it, and oh boy have times changed because the Police now arrest adults who have sex with children. Especially those who confess to it, SMH.

What ah Life
If you’re in your 60s and above, I think you’ll like this book (especially if you’re a music enthusiast). I was blown away by his artistry and recording history. His personal history had me mixed as he depicted his traumas, his self-induced dilemmas as well as his drive to become a musical legend. He struggled with being a good role model for his children. I don’t know who lived a more tormented life, Bobby Womack or Marvin Gaye. Anyways, I couldn’t put this book down. It was an easy read but contained a lots of misspellings so don’t get mad, you’ve been warned. Just enjoy the book as I did and try not to get too mad at Bobby because he was doing the best that he could under the circumstances. Those circumstances are laid out in the book.

Eye Opening Heartstrings Jerker.
For what it's worth I truly enjoyed reading Mr. Womack's, book. It gave a lot of insight into the music industry at and in this times. Now I see that making it in the industry wasn't as easy as it seemed, even when the music was out and people were enjoying it, 9 times out of 10 the artist may have still been struggling to make ends meet and trying to be known as well as to be taken seriously. The STRUGGLE was real, they are HUMAN even when as fans we just can't or couldn't see it pass their smiles, fancy clothes, cars the lights and glamour. At times they truly had to fight for their own moneys, own names, own music and at times there own royalties. Ownership of themselves seem to be up for grabs at times. Knowing so many famous people of today had so much involvements (business wise and personally) with each other back then was very enlightening for me.

Great life story
This was a solid autobiography. This man had one heck of a life. I learned so many knew things about him and this book also cleared up a lot of untruths and misconceptions about him and his life. I've said for years he needed a movie about his life and reading this made me believe it even more. I would definitely recommend this book.

I knew of Bobby Womack's life, but I bought this book because I wanted to read it from his own words This man's life was a soap opera, and it's amazing how he knew of everyone from Janis, to Jimi, to the Rolling Stones. Wow My favorite songs from him are Woman's Gotta Have it, Harry Hippie, Across 110th street, and If you think you're lonely now

This is a great read. I am a huge Bobby Womack fan and his life story is nothing short of amazing, I had no idea about half the people he worked with, what a ground breaking artist he was.

son sac a dos était lourd mais il l'a bien porté , un grand bonhomme ,un musicien hors pair , l'ombre de sam cooke , a faire lire au pseudo star contemporaine.
