Fast easy quality build
Easy to use. Decent instructions included. Cables (USB A and C included). Screwdriver. Clone went very fast so decent controller interface. Nothing to complain about. Solid aluminum housing for heat dissipation. Thermal pads included. Recommend.

High quality and thoughtful design
I love that everything from the screwdriver to bumper pads are included with this enclosure. The build quality seems quite high and it worked perfectly in a windows 10 environment. I had a spare m2 ssd after upgrading and this turned it into a handy external drive. Price may seem high but I think you will be pleased once you see and experience the product first hand.

Excellent Product & Packaging !
I've used it with Samsung EVO 960 and iMac Late 2015 , the internal HDD came with the iMac is too slow giving a speed of ~90 / ~80 Read/Write . I've transferred my whole mac os mojave into the external ssd boot it as main startup disk giving an excellent speed as screenshot shows using the 3.0 USB and I believe that it could reach ~1000 mbps if it is USB 3.1 Gen 2 . Though it is a day and night difference. The Case is never hot it is just some time little warm no need for fan or cooling . The case came with 6 small magnetic screws and a good quality usb 3.1 to usb c cable. Thanks again you've made my day. ♥

Great enclosure; Cloning troubles
I planned to upgrade and clone my Samsung 960 EVO 500 GB SSD to Samsung 970 EVO 1TB SSD. Hardware installation was easy enough, but the cloning had me a little stumped. First I tried the Samsung Migration software, but it would not detect the Samsung inside the ElecGear external enclosure, which was hooked to my USB3 port. Also tried EaseUS and Macrium software, but they would give me errors. Finally, I tried AOMEI Partition Assistant, and was able to clone it. After cloning, I just swapped the Samsung's in my PC and it booted right up.I believe the problem was that Windows 10 (Device Manager) only detected the external drive as an ACASIS SCSI drive, and not detecting and reporting it as the actual Samsung hard drive. Samsung Migration wouldn't work because it's seeing the drive as an ACASIS and not Samsung drive. For EaseUS and Macrium, those software tried to clone within the Windows 10 environment, so for some reason probably had confusion between the ACASIS SCSI controller and the SSD connected to it.AOMEI Partition Assistant actually cloned the software in the Windows Recovery Environment (before Windows boots). If there was a way for EaseUS and Macrium to do that, which there may be, then perhaps it can work with those software. Maybe it would work in Safe Mode too, but I forgot to try it.Overall, the ElecGear enclosure is very solid and well built, and no connectivity issues. Just wish it somehow detected the SSD directly, instead of the controller hardware. Not sure if other brands do the same.NOTE: Since the hardware showed as ACASIS SCSI, the ElecGear is probably just a rebranded ACASIS product, which is also sold on Amazon, which I didn't see until after my purchase and research. So purchase whichever one is cheapest. Again, this is just my assumption, but they both look identical as well.

It works great and looks cool
The only problem I had was finding the pads. The separations on carrier aren't defined that well.

Should have ordered this one first, worth the money!
I tried to save some money and ordered another adapter first, which I immediately returned. I should have ordered this first! Very easy to install and even comes with a screwdriver, so no looking around for the proper size driver. The material is solid and once I installed the SSD added the screws, it was up in running! Another plus, they gave you two cables (one USB-C and one USB).
