I tried using my soldering iron on the first couple of attempts, but that did not work as quickly or as repeatable as using a hot air blower. Plus I could see the solder flow and the seals being made. I'm rewiring about 100 outdoor lights that require two butt splices per fixture. This is a quick and effective means of making the connections. Takes a few seconds to twist, slide the connection into place, heat-solder-seal, and move on to the next wire.

Not used them yet but the packing was destroyed upon arrival. There was 8 pieces in the package but the packing doesn’t state how many there is supposed to be, and neither does the sales ad. I will update my review on quality of product once I’ve tested them. They do appear a bit large before use for the stated “16-14ga” wire but maybe they will shrink a lot!?
