I use this in my voice-over biz
The Deity S-Mic 2 is a very impressive shotgun condenser microphone. When it arrived, I immediately installed this mic in my announce booth...WOW. A very quiet mic and as responsive as any studio condenser mic I've used or own. It's no wonder Deity has carved out the reputation they have in the market. My only beef is the foam windscreen that comes with the mic. I generally dislike foam windscreens because of how they can alter higher end frequencies. Solve that with a Popper Stopper. Otherwise, this is a versatile microphone that's equally at home in the studio as it is on location. Be brave...BUY ONE!

Amazing value!
I’m a voice actor and heard about how this microphone is somewhat of a dupe for the 416. As I’m slowly upgrading my equipment, I thought I’d give it a shot. It’s perfect for my needs right now! It doesn’t pick up a lot of outside noise or mouth noises and the mic itself is great for my voice. It comes with a professional case which is also nice. I’m very happy with my mic!

Love this mic!
It has a terrific sound to it and it does a great job of NOT picking up everything around me.

Great mic
Diety s-mic2 does not disappoint. I have used it on a few shoots already. I have used with a boom pole over talent, or in this scenario, where I use a saramonic sr-vrm1 for backup recording and phantom power, a fethead phantom 18db boost going into the s-mic2 and the output of the saramonic going into my Sony A7III. The fethead let’s me use the clean 18db gain with the not so good preamps in the a7III and saramonic. Back to the s-mic2, the quality of this thing definitely punch’s above its weight. I think I will get it’s little brother the s-mic2s as well for indoor situations. If you need a mic and if you are looking at this thing after watching many, many YouTube videos. Just get it. It does what it’s supposed to do very, very well.

Great mic
This was our second deity mic. We got it quickly, but it had a sound problem at 30 db. We got a replacement fairly quickly, and it works great! Sound engineer loves the sound!

DOA
Wanted to like the product. Definitely solid and seemingly well built. But microphone was completely dead on arrival. Tried two different cameras. Multiple XLR and adapter cables. Thing is completely dead. Had high hopes after seeing multiple YouTuber reviews, but will be sticking with the old NTG RØDE instead. Guessing (hoping) I just got a bad unit, but don't have the time in a busy shooting schedule to wait for a replacement.
