My Turn To Learn Numbers

I love this entire series! The big chunky tabs on each page make it easy for my baby to practice turning book pages. The book is made of plastic with paper veneer so he can stick it in his mouth all he wants and he won't damage it. We got these when he was about 6 months old and now at 10 months he goes for these more often than his other books. Highly recommend.

Originally, we checked out the "My Turn to Learn Opposites" from our local library. These books are so nicely made, the illustrations are absolutely darling, and price is just right. So, I decided to buy all four for my 2-yr old... we've got another babe on the way, so these books will get some extended (and earlier) use with him.

Love the books written by this author. The format of the board books make it easy for toddlers to flip the page.

This sturdy little book in the MY TURN TO LEARN series is all about the Numbers from 1 to 10.This book features an adorable chubby brown bear --he's "ONE bear"-- who appears on subsequent pages with TWO owls, THREE birds, etc.What I really love about this book, besides the cute bear, is that it's super sturdy. The pages are not flexible in the least; but very thick and glossy. I would think they'd hold up very well.What I'm a bit disappointed about is that numbers 6 thru 10 all appear on the same two pages. I understand that the book would probably be weaker with additional pages, but ideally I would have liked the pattern of two pages per number, with each number having it's own sturdy tab.Moms and others are going to be able to get a lot of use out this book. The tabs are going to be good practice for chubby little fingers to learn with. And the color scheme and addition of animals and flowers are going to give us the opportunity to teach colors and the names of items first, and then numbers when that time comes.There are birds (blue birds and owls), flowers, clouds, trees, snails, acorns, ladybugs and leaves, amongst other things to name.A good selection for older babies. Start with naming colors and things, and then add on numbers later.Pam T~(review copy)

I took my six-month old to the bookstore and showed him various books. He immediately reached out for this one. He has had it about a month now and it is still his favorite. He likes the bright clear illustrations, but mostly he loves the fact that he can turn the pages himself. Those tabs are great for babies developing dexterity. I find that the simplicity of the illustrations is nice because we can discuss literally everything on the page (the bear has a green hat and pink cheeks) in addition to the numbers. We are trying to raise him to be bilingual as well, and the clear and limited pictures are easy to discuss in both languages without room for confusion. I anticipate that as he gets older, this will be a book that he enjoys "reading" back to me.I agree with the other reviewer that it would have been nice to have one page per number, instead of two pages for numbers 1-5 and then numbers 6-10 all on the last page. Overall my son and I are very happy with this book.

my son likes this book and its sturdy, but for the 6 picture, there are only 5 snails. How did that slip by?!

I love the easy to flip tabs and sturdy feel of this book. The content is typical for a child's counting book but the pictures are very cute. I like that page 5 has 5 of a few different things, not just the main character (which I'm forgetting what it is at this moment).

Ok book but not much to it. One bear, two flowers, that sort of thing. My daughter likes to colourful illustrations and being able to turn the pages herself relatively easily (8 months old). Hoping for more with the price.
