Lavishly illustrated and skillfully put together. Review: Amazing - Amazing pictures, those, without people, the photografer definately has his own view and a gift to capture it and show others. The castle itself and its surroundings deserve to be presented via so decent pictures. This book is definetely more about impression and emotions than about history to me.

I dearly love French authors.
Yes, I am a Francophile. I especially love books like this from French authors because, aside from being beautifully photographed, the French have a knack of putting their subject matter in a broader context. Which, for me, is a very good thing.

Fantastic Photos!
This is a stunning book. The photographer has taken vivid photos - He chooses unusual views of Chambord's incomparable architecture. As for images of the grounds and unique forest of the chateau, his photos engage and invite you to feel the atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Very Little Background or History
Excellent photos of the land and animals -- but almost no interior photos showing furnishings or paintings. Very little historical information -- very superficial. NO discussion of the art, paintings or furnishings. Definitely not a historical study. Disappointing!

Not that great
Hardly any interior photos. Several dreamy shots of landscape around the chateau - instead of photographs of the chateau.

A magnificent castle captured in all its splendour. A very enjoyable read and well-researched. Lovely pictures take you right there.
