Keeps rust
Ballistol is the best. Non toxic with a hundred year plus history. Use it for carry tool that I clean every month or so. Concerned about cancer causing chemicals. Wanted peace of mind that item would work and not have me getting sick later on in life. Some people complain about the smell. Doesn't bother me. Leave it out in open air for 24 hours and I don't smell it anymore. Cleans powder ok. Copper fouling not so much, would need to soak overnight. If you need white glove clean you will need something a bit more aggressive. Lubricates pretty well. No stoppages even after left on pieces that sit in the safe unused for most of the year. Didn't gum or slow things down as far as I could tell. Leaves a thin film on the metal. Safe for wood and leather. Mix 10:1, shake thoroughly and you have a excellent Black Powder cleaner. A little goes a long way. If you put on too much it drip off and/or attract dirt. This twin pack should last many many years for some one who doesn't run a commercial shop. Bought the 6 oz can but the spray nozzle broke in my bag and leaked out so I reordered this bundle. This should last me at least 10 years based on my use. Price fluctuates and this bundle seems to go in and out of stock often. Not my first choice as a preservative though. No rust issues with sweat / humidity but not sure how many years this would last in deep storage. Would use Cosmoline type of protectsnt or some type of waxy product instead.

Works well and offers some corrosion protection.
I recently discovered this product because it is recommended by a high-end European sliding table saw manufacturer for lubrication and corrosion protection. It leaves behind a thin wax-like coating that provides some corrosion protection, setting it apart from most penetrating lubricants. Originally designed for gun cleaning and protection—similar to CLP—it has proven versatile for many applications. It's also relatively non-toxic, compared to alternatives. When first applied, the product emits an odor I don’t like, but it dissipates quickly, and I’ve grown accustomed to it. I prefer the non-spray 16-ounce can over the spray version, as it offers nearly three times more lubricant. For added convenience, consider getting some needle oiler bottles—they work exceptionally well with this product for precise applications. Overall, Ballistol is an excellent choice for lubrication with some corrosion protection. Recommended

All you need to clean, lube, and protect
I've been using Ballistol for several years now to clean and protect guns and other metals and it really does work well in all regards. It does not seem to harm wood stocks in any way, and I've heard that it can actually be good for them. I've used other solvents, lubes, etc. in the past but I like that this product is not only highly effective, but also safe if you get some on you and for the environment, in general. It does have a different sort of smell, but not irritating or caustic - something akin to black licorice. I generally use it outdoors, but have used it indoors on occasion, and the smell does dissipate fairly quickly. This Combo pack is a great deal, as it gives you an aerosol can for the range bag and the pump spray can for use when cleaning your gear in the backyard.

Top Notch Outstanding
Eco friendly, non-toxic, water soluble, this is an excellent lubricant. I have been using it for 15+ years with nary a problem. It cleans all of my firearms perfectly, and will leave them shiny and spotless. Works on wood, plastic, and a variety of metals, removes light rust, lead and (copper to an extent) and lubricates all working parts. Great for tools, and knives too. Highly recommended!

Ballistol does it all.
Ballistol is a teriffic lubricant and cleaner. I have been using it for years. Especially good for cleaning and lubricating guns. Since Ballistol emulsifies in water (mixes) you can use it many different ways. For deep cleaning my 1911 & 1873 peacemaker 45 colt you won't believe this. I take a glass baking dish just large enough and deep enough to hold the gun. If you have a gun with plastic parts of any kind do not attempt this! Fill the baking dish with boiling water to a depth that will cover the stripped down gun ( frame, slide etc.(make sure you remove the grips first) mixing in enough Ballistol to make the water oily, water will turn milky white, add all gun parts and let sit for about 7-10 mins. remove parts and scrub with old tooth brush or something similar. When done scrubbing everything, rerinse in the water mixture, remove and shake out all excess water. Set out to dry on an old towel. Parts will dry quickly due to the hot water evaporating, what you will be left with is a spanking clean gun that is completely lubed and cleaned inside and out. The hot water will melt away all the old grease, dirt and oil and when the parts are dry the Ballistol returns to its original form, coating all parts in a thin film of lube. I've used this method for years on my guns , especially the peacemaker since I shoot nothing but black powder thru it. There has never been a single instance of rust on any of my guns using this method, The hot metal flash dries leaving the ballistol behind to protect against rust. If you hunt in wet, rainy weather nothing beats Ballistol, wipe guns down with it and when they get wet the water again mixes with the ballistol, when you get in out of the weather put the gun up to dry ( don't wipe down) the water evaporates and there is the Ballistol still there protecting the finish. Also works great as a leather holster dressing, watered down it can even be used to wipe down and clean the leaves on house plants such as Rubber plants and others that have a tendency to collect a lot of dust. Some people complain of the smell, personally it reminds a little of black licorice or Anise oil.

It's Ballistol.
I'd love to give these products 5 stars....after all it's Ballistol. I gave 4 stars for the amount of Ballistol delivered by the aerosol spray. In my small opinion, I think it's too much. I like being able to control the amount deposited onto my firearms....and feel the aerosol spray just delivers too much. Now for the twist. The aerosol spray is wonderful for use down my barrels....I love being able to spray into them. I'd recommend these products to anyone.

Best for muzzleloaders
This is the best oil to get for your muzzleloader. And it makes….moose milk…when mixed with water…i mix it 50/50 with water and soak my pillow ticking in it and make patches ….when the water evaporates from the ticking it makes a beautiful lubed patch..this stuff is the best on the market

REALLY WORKS - A TRUE MUST HAVE
A very useful tool. I've old WW1 & 2 firearms, an old Colt Navy (1858). All sorts of others that I keep flawless/perfect. This is at least as good as G96, and doesn't gum up parts after long storage like most oils do. This is a must have for every shooter.
