Well written, usable recipes
Fantastic chef with a really useful, useable cook book. Well written and well tested recipes which will help introduce the unfamiliar into the complex and over whelming world of Indian spices. Thoroughly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in cooking.

A wonderful Indian cookery book
Cyrus Todiwalla is a wonderful ambassador for Indian cooking and this book reflects it. There are so many interesting recipes and modern interpretations of traditional Indian recipes. Well worth buying along with his other books including Cafe Spice Namaste (the Restaurant itself is brilliant)

Very, very disappointed
Really disappointed. I bought this for my husband and when it arrived I was really disappointed there wasn't an actual spice box. Maybe a bit naively I was expecting the ten spices to come with it. We eventually bought all the spices and thought we were good to cook up a few recipes. Browsing through deciding what to cook, I was disappointed that there weren't actually that many curries. Also, you need more than 10 spices eg gram masala and cumin seeds are not on the list of 10 but you need them in the recipe we tried. The recipe was really complicated. My husband is a fairly experienced cook but it took about an hour to make some potato croquettes. The recipe just didn't flow. Probably won't be cooking any more of these and the book is in the charity shop bag.
