I bought these to protect my desk and vanity from hot curling irons. I never used them in the kitchen, but they’re great for the purpose I wanted.

If a zero star was a thing I would do. The holes in the design store water so after washing be carefull or you will have water ALL over the floor. Another very important thing is they don’t protect your hand from heat....so it’s not even a hot pad literally can’t even grab a hot plate for 2 seconds without the heat going through and burning your hand. These will be making their way into my trash can.

These are so nice for my black glass range. Glass can crack easily, so they are good for cooling a pot or putting serving dishes on to fill.

I bought these to replace a somewhat similar hot pad. Sadly, when taking something out of the oven, I felt my fingers burning right through this pad... So I no longer use them for that purpose. However I do use them to set hot things on.Update: after seeing a photo of how a person's granite countertop was ruined by setting a hot pot on this thing, I cannot even recommend them for that purpose. And even though I use them from time to time, they are worthless for picking up hot items like a cast iron skillet. Burns your hand right through it.Mostly I use them underneath super-hot plates to protect the table, or under a bowl of hot soup/stew on a plate (if we're eating in bed) to keep the heat from the food from burning our hands.Worthless as a real hot pad or triven. I recommend the Ove Glove. Still looking for a good trivet.

I purchased these in hopes of using them to make my own chocolate chips. It was way too time consuming to be worth it. However they are great little trivets!

We used two of them to put permanently on our Webber metal grill handle, which heats up sometimes to the point you cannot touch the handle without gloves - I installed 3 stainless steel snaps on each of two of them and they are on the handle but can be easily removed for cleaning. The other two are stored under my grill on a hook for use in handling hot objects. Very nice quality, well made.

I am very disappointed with these silicone pot trivets/mats. I purposely chose these Smithcraft mats because of the size indicated in your product information. However, they are NOT 7.5x7.5. They are ONLY 7.0x7.0 and the half-inch does make a difference when placing pots on them. I have not used them as yet and gave 4-stars for heat resistance and sturdiness but I am a little skeptical on these features because they are thinner than what I am currently using. I will update in the near future. I would, however, appreciate if you would please correct your Product information so that no one else makes the same mistake I did. Not happy with purchase.

Great silicone mat, I use to lay bowls and plates of hot food on. Stylish design, love the large space. Not the greatest to hold extreme heat but for normal hotness is fine, can always stack something below if needed. Easy to clean material.

These are not heat resistant. i placed them on a hot cooktop 5mins after turning it off a nd the pad heated up and started to smell. I needed those to cover hot cooktops to protect my cat but they are useless for that purpose.

I use it under coffee pot; easy to clean; option of different colours! It works!

Trivet, oven rack handler, hot lids, and also under cutting boards- they don't move(might need more than 1 for bigger boards
