Gets the job done
Basic leaf skimmer but does the job

Manageable size skimmer
I like that it is manageable for me. Easy to grab for a quick skim. Extension handle seems to be quite sturdy. There is button attachment for the skimmer basket itself to handle. This joint appears to be flimsy. With the pressure of gliding in water it will bend that directions. I have been just flipping the basket over to glide in reverse direction and it will straighten out. Problem solved.

Does the job - Good Price
For the money it is good. I don't expect it to last very long. The plastic net area will probably break. The lightweight aluminum handle is rather flimsy, but does the job. The net is replaceable, which is a plus. Saw the net at local ACE Hardware for $7.95. Good to know if it breaks before the handle does. If you are looking for an inexpensive skimmer, this is a good buy. If you are looking for a heavy duty, long lasting skimmer, pay more money and get something else. Pros: cheap, does the job, replaceable net head. Cons: flimsy, not built to last long term.

Quality skimmer net for a great price!
Ordered this skimmer to replace one bought at WM last summer. In comparison this skimmer net seems both larger and more sturdy. The telescopic pole is handy, and well made. It is much better made than the pole on the WM model. The net can be removed from the pole that comes with it and placed on a standard 20 foot pool pole. This is a nice feature. It means you can both use the net from outside the pool to retrieve items out of "normal" reach, and when this net wears out, you can replace the net only for use on the shorter pole. The mesh net is tightly woven and well made. I bought this to skim flying ants off the water's surface and with this tight weave, it works perfectly. Both the net's plastic handle and the telescoping pole are much more sturdy than the WM skimmer net on a pole. Best uses: Above ground pools for item retrieval or skimming within four feet of the edge when you're outside the pool, skimming the water's surface while in the pool, attaching the skimmer net to a standard pool pole for extended reach. Con's: The pole that comes with this net maxes out at 4 feet. If you need a longer reaching skimmer net and don't have a standard pool pole that telescopes to 20 feet, you might want to get one. Conclusion: This product does what it is intended to do and seems durable. I feel I got a good buy with this purchase.

Flimsy but right size for spa use
I bought this skimmer in 2013 and now need to order a replacement. It's perfect size and has lasted 6 years so I guess it has stood the test of time. At this point the screen has ripped out. Pros: small and lightweight, stays out of the way when you don't need it. Right size for hot tub but the handle is way too short for a pool. Cons: Flimsy construction: I was always afraid to scoop along the bottom of the tub or move it very fast as the net is barely attached to the handle. So lightweight that the wind can (and has) carry it away. I'll probably buy something else now to replace it.

LOVE THIS TO DEATH - HAD TO PURCHASE THE 2ND ONE DUE TO TRAUMA OF THE 1ST ONE!
UPDATED REVIEW - 4/17/2015 - Had to purchase another Pool Skimmer after finding out the other one which everyone had literally torn the whole shed and house apart looking for the original and only when my SON FOUND IT HIDDEN - BUSTED; he had to call his children forward... my grandson was trying to take the telescopic rods apart and it didn't work and did his "Whack-mack-doodles" (banging) to try to separate them so he could have a pretend "Light Sabre Sword" until one neighbor caught him and was going to tell his parents, he got scared and hid it and totally forgot about it. SIGH! Thia is a replacement and he's been warned - the other one suffered "Severe Trauma" whereas photos would be too graphic to post and it wound up in the scrap yard (to be recycled). The general idea here is - KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN - ESPECIALLY LITTLE BOYS WHO ARE MISCHIEVOUS! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Does wonders to get everything not just leaves, grass, but also pool toys out of the pool without having to break your back! Just the perfect size for Large Small sized Above Ground Inflatable Pools, but will also work with under ground and above ground pools as well; as being a secondary accessory - not for pool cleaning but rather to collect all those pool toys from Fun Balls / Ballz to other Floating objects out of the way to be put away.so it doesn't clog up your filter!

Great for screening the dogs' trough!
I bought this as a replacement for the first one I purchased several years ago to clean out a horse trough. I used it to filter out leaves, alfalfa, and other debris (bugs) that would end up on the 300-gallon trough's water surface. A long-handled skimmer would have been too long and unwieldy. I was excited to find this short handled one. The only complaint I have is that there's no way to hang it on a hook. I had to purchase a replacement because my horse stepped on the original one. Had it not ended up under the horse's hoof, I'm sure it would still be just fine. This is obviously no fault of the manufacturer. Although I no longer have a horse, I do still have a use for this, which is why I replaced it: to skim stuff off the top of the dogs' water trough, as referenced in my headline. It helps keep their water clean and prevents otherwise unnecessary trough dumpings/refillings. The dogs like to swim in their trough so this is a must-have for skimming all the stuff off that ends up at the top of the water. It's small and I store it in a 5-gallon bucket (it does stick out the top a few inches) because I cannot hang it up (and I don't want another animal stepping on it and ruining it).

Well built and works very well. Nice to find a good product like this among all the cheap junk on Amazon these days. Should last a long time. Would be nice if it had a better handle, the aluminum tube is a bit small for larger hands.

Much better quality than expected. Not cheaply made, it is sturdy and lightweight and will last a long time with reasonable care. A good purchase.

Good quality and value. It does not seem to feel sturdy but as long as you don't scoop heavy things with it and just use it to fish out leaves, needles and stuff from your hot tub or pool, this is great value and lasted over two years already.

Works fine. Maybe a little flimsy, but I have been careful with it and it has held on all summer. For the price, it is a great product.

It is just the skimmer. No extension. But, I love it. It picks up everything. The smallest specs in the water. I go in my above ground pool and walk around with it until there is nothing in the water. Love it.
